Cabin in the Meadow

Cabin in the Meadow is a newly constructed quaint & secluded custom built cabin; hand crafted with love & timber off of our own land, where rustic primitive and modern technology meet. Tucked away overlooking the meadow and surrounded by fir trees, it’s the perfect little getaway.

We specifically designed our cabin for the comfort of two adult guests.
For safety reasons, we have a no young child/toddler policy, infants & children over the age of 12 welcome.
Effortless check in and check out, we do not require our guests to follow any rules upon departure.

Upon arrival, you will find a book we created of informative tips and some of our favorite places to dine and explore to help you enjoy all Sandpoint has to offer.

Special Seasonal Notes: Fireplace: During the summer months we turn off the fireplace pilot light, if you desire to use the fireplace please let us know and we will be happy to relight it for you.

Driveway: During the winter months the steep driveway to cabin is well maintained, plowed & sanded. However, we highly recommend AWD vehicles.

Come to historic Sandpoint, Idaho and enjoy our adorable Cabin located a mere 1.5 miles from downtown and walking distance to Talus Rock Retreat.

In downtown Sandpoint you can peruse local shops, coffee houses, the Panida Theater, amazing restaurants, City Beach and the clear waters of Lake Pend Oreille.

A scenic 30 minute drive will take you to Schweitzer Mountain Village, where there is everything from bluegrass festivals to huckleberry picking in the summer and world-class skiing in the winter.

The Festival at Sandpoint's Concert Series in late July through early August is an annual event not to be missed!

There are endless opportunities to sight-see, bike, boat, paddle board, kayak, swim, raft, hike, sail, ski, snowboard, snowshoe or just relax in our picturesque town.

We have uniquely decorated this cabin so that you feel warm & welcomed, and rest assured that cleanliness is of utmost importance.

Included: Outdoor fire pit & propane BBQ grill. New Gas Fireplace, Smart TV, free WIFI, Bose Bluetooth speaker, Keurig Duo coffee maker and coffee, microwave, puzzles, games, books, and many more things to make your stay memorable.

Chances are good that you will see Wild Turkey and Whitetail Deer, if you’re lucky a Moose and/or Black Bear may pass though. Please do not approach the wildlife.

Surveillance cameras are in place at the driveway entrance and on the parking spaces only.

We live onsite and are close enough to accommodate you quickly if there's anything you need, but far enough away you won’t be disturbed.

This sweet spot was the perfect place for my daughter and I to get away and spend time together. Surrounded by pines, it is so peaceful. We enjoyed the warmth of the fire while watching the weather outside. Everything is high quality and cozy. Definitely one of the best places we have ever stayed.

The cabin was such a cozy and inviting place for us to spend our 10th anniversary. It has everything you cpuld need and is secluded in beautiful scenery. We loved staying there and would recommend any couple looking to disconnect and get away to stay here .

This is my second time staying at the cabin in the meadow. It is extremely quiet and peaceful and wonderful as a solo traveler. The bed is comfortable, the water is hot, and the coffee supply is seemingly never ending. The drive up to Schweitzer is fairly easy and also provide provides quick access into town.Even with a four-wheel-drive vehicle, the driveway is very steep. If weather conditions are icy, I recommend contacting Kris and Rachel to get a “parking spot“ cleared up top. I slid off the end of the driveway and could not get my vehicle back on solid ground by myself. Kris spent at least an hour trying to help me, but we ended up having to call a tow company for a winch out anyway. This is by no means a reflection of the property and the hosts were extremely gracious through the whole event. I appreciate their warmth and caring, and the laughs had at my expense . If my travels bring me back through Sandpoint, I will surely stay at this cabin for a third time.

Nearly new, tastefully decorated cabin with turkeys in the woods. Very quiet and private. Nice shower. Fun to have a fire outside on a cold night. I failed to notice that the cozy loft is accessed by a ladder which wasn't ideal, my bad. Would return provided my buddy takes the loft next time!

We really enjoyed our stay. It was beautiful and very quiet. The furnishings were very nice and comfy. We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer. We were very tired when we arrived from travelling and the cabin had everything we needed and more. Definitely would like to stay again when we are in the area.

Everything about this cabin was perfect. It was so clean and comfortable. You can tell the owners have put a ton of work into it and we appreciated all of the small extra touches from the wine to the readers. Cute little cabin in the woods. We were able to enjoy the deer and the wild turkeys and even had a skinny friendly cat come to visit. The cabin itself was identical to the listing except did not realize how difficult it would be for women in their fifties to be able to go up and down that ladder to the loft. It was especially difficult to get my friends huge piece of luggage up there. We spent most of our time there outside and would have appreciated more wood for the fire pit. We would be more conscious next time to bring our own axe and wood to a unit with a fire pit. The weather was great and we enjoyed Sandpoint.

Beautiful property! Everything was exactly as the photos and listing indicate. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. We all had our best sleeps here! Rachel and Kris went above and beyond providing extra supplies and treats. We felt very relaxed and spoilt staying here. We stayed in 3 other places on our road trip and can say that hands-down, this is the only place we did not want to leave. We were blessed to see several deer on the property, many birds (our favorite being the Hummingbird who greeted us upon our arrival), starry nights and bats at dusk. The last two nights of a week long road trip were spent at this very well thought out, nicely appointed and quiet “Cabin in the Meadow.” The hosts, unseen, made you feel welcome even though you never see them, but it is as if you were a very honored guest. It is one of two places that we will hope to return to in the future. Well worth it!!
