I truly love supporting local businesses, and I really wanted this stay to be a great experience because the hotel definitely has potential. Unfortunately, there were several issues that made it hard to fully enjoy our time there.
We paid for amenities that were either unavailable or not functioning during our stay. The pool was out of service the entire time, and although there was a bar on site, there was never anyone working. There was also no maid service during our stay, no towel refresh, and we weren’t able to change our bedding.
The biggest concern was our room. There was standing water due to a leaking ceiling. We called about it multiple times, but it was never resolved. Because of the leak, the room smelled like mildew throughout our stay and attracted mosquitoes. We were bitten numerous times on our bodies and faces while inside our room, which was extremely uncomfortable.
To make matters worse, during the last few hours before checkout, our water stopped working completely, so we weren’t even able to shower before leaving for home.
Again, I genuinely believe this property has potential with proper resources and maintenance improvements. I hope they take feedback seriously and make the necessary changes, because I would love to see this hotel thrive — but based on this experience, it wasn’t the best stay for us.
