My husband and I stayed at the Westin San Diego for our anniversary, and overall our experience was wonderful. Special thanks to Zozima (SD local and front desk) , Julianna at concierge, Brandon, and the café staff, all of whom went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Zozima provided excellent food & activity recommendations. The check-in process was smooth, and switching rooms was handled seamlessly.
Unfortunately, we did have some less pleasant experiences. On 9/27, while seeking assistance at the concierge desk, Suzanne looked directly at us but refused to acknowledge or assist. Only when I said “excuse me” did Julianna step in with warmth and professionalism, while Suzanne continued to ignore us. Later, when I tried to revisit the encounter with Suzanne, she admitted seeing us but remained dismissive and unaware of how her actions impacted our experience.
We also experienced repeated TV issues (screen glitching/freezing). The first time, engineering resolved it quickly, but when it happened again that evening, the concierge seemed rude and inconvenienced. This time, no engineer showed up and there was no follow-up.
Overall: We enjoyed our stay thanks to the excellent staff members who truly cared, but lapses in service particularly at concierge kept the experience from being flawless. Location is perfect.
