I had an issue w/ communication. The Host was responsive, but unprofessional in responses. Host did not disclose doorbell camera at the front door monitoring my comings/goings in her listing. I wouldn't have rented if it was disclosed. This made me uncomfortable. I figured the camera must've been there for security purposes when no one is renting. This has been disclosed in other rentals. I covered the camera not thinking it would be an issue. Host was upset w/ me when she asked me about the obstruction on the camera. I did not argue. I removed it upon her request. but did tell her I felt it should've been disclosed in her listing. She told me it was disclosed & said I must've missed it. She told me if I didn't like it, I could leave & stay at a hotel that has cameras too. This is a violation of rental rules. I reported it & the disclosure is now there.*My teenage son accidentally broke one of the steps on a bunk bed in one of the rooms while climbing up to the top bunk. I let Host know what happened & she told me my son shouldn't have been up there in the first place. There were no restrictions noted. She said she'd get an estimate & send it to me. I reminded her I purchased property ins. I later received an email from the ins. co. for a claim for the broken step, which I have no problem with, but also a plumbing issue. I did notify Host of a loose handle in one shower that was an issue when I checked in & had to wait for the plumber to fix the leaking water/loose handle.
