Capture the essence of San Diego in our 2 story Victorian carriage house hosted by Ethos Vacation Homes with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The historical building features elite comfort for up to 10 guests with central A/C and heating, 5 comfortable king and queen size beds, FREE laundry, 4 enormous HDTVs, Netflix, Max, Hulu, Starz, Showtime, Disney+, Apple+, Paramount+ and ESPN+. This spacious San Diego vacation rental home has everything you need for your California Dreaming Vacation!

The spacious interior of this 3 bedroom 2 bath smart home is newly designed and renovated by Ethos, with brand new floors and carpet, modern appliances, large HDTVs, and designer furniture. The entirety of this upscale and breathtaking interior is surrounded by Historic San Diego`s famous Victorian heritage.

The Bedrooms and The Living Room:
Two bedrooms have king size beds and one bedroom has a queen size bed, while the living room offers two additional sleeper sofas that open to queen size beds as well. All five beds come with plenty of linens, pillows and comforters. And we also provide a pack and play.
There are luggage racks, 4 large HDTVs with FREE Netflix, Max, Hulu, Starz, Showtime, Disney+, Apple+, Paramount+ and ESPN+, blazing fast WiFi, HDMI outputs, sound machines, as well as USB phone and tablet chargers in every bedroom.

The Kitchen:
Our spacious kitchen is a perfect fit for family cooking with modern appliances such as oven, stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and blender. And the essential kitchenware includes plates, bowls, cups and mugs, pots and cooking utensils. FREE coffee and tea, sugar, creamer, and much more. We also provide a high chair.

The Bathrooms:
Our two newly renovated bathrooms are stocked with all the essentials, hair dryers, and toiletries. One bathroom is accessible from the downstairs living room, while the other bathroom is accessible from the upstairs hallway.

Laundry:
Your own personal laundry including both washer and dryer. Iron and ironing board are also available inside the house. And we always provide FREE laundry detergent.

Parking:
We offer FREE parking right next to your entrance and there is FREE additional street parking in our neighborhood as well. Gaslamp parking usually cost around $30-$40 per day just a few blocks away.

Our beautiful home is hidden in Downtown San Diego`s famous Historic District, only a few minutes drive or Uber ride to the San Diego Zoo, Gaslamp District, Petco Park, the Convention Center, and Little Italy. It is 10 minutes to Seaport Village, Coronado, and SeaWorld; and about 15-20 minutes to all San Diego beaches and the La Jolla cliffs.
There is also plenty of public transportation to choose from, depending on your destination.

We hope that these guidelines are reasonable and fair, as they help us protect our property, respect our neighbors, and ensure a comfortable stay for future guests who may arrive shortly after you. If you have any questions or special requests before booking, please feel free to reach out.


Check-In and Check-Out

Check-in is any time after 4:00 PM. Check-out is by 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out may be requested through your personal online Ethos Home Portal, available immediately after your reservation is confirmed. We will do our best to accommodate such requests; however, occasionally we may only be able to confirm same-day or 24 hours in advance based on turnover schedules.

We keep check-out tasks to a minimum. We only ask that you wash your dishes and remove your trash from inside the home. These two small steps help us pay our cleaning teams a fair wage while keeping our overall cleaning fees reasonable. If you leave something behind, we are happy to mail lost and found items back to you for a $35 Handling Fee plus the cost of shipping.

Overstaying beyond the designated check-out time may result in additional charges of up to 150% of the effective daily rate of your stay for each day (full or partial) that you overstay, as well as any other related damages, fees, costs or expenses incurred by us, such as our loss of a subsequent guest reservation or booking alternative accommodations for them. We reserve the right to enter the accommodation, remove any belongings, change the locks or lock codes to the space and take further action as may be necessary or appropriate.


Prohibited Conduct and Excessive Cleaning

Illegal substances, drugs, and smoking of any kind are strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises, including but not limited to tobacco, marijuana, cigars, cigarettes, and pipes, as well as hookah, e-cigarettes, and vapes. Illegal drugs or smoking any substances may result in immediate cancellation of the reservation and a Smoke Cleaning Fee of up to $750 to deep clean and deodorize the home. Please note that recreational smoke detection sensors protect all our properties.

Unauthorized guests or occupants. Please observe the maximum occupancy allowed on your reservation at all times. If you would like more than 6 guests, including daytime visitors, to occupy the home at any time during the reservation, please confirm it with us before check-in. Unauthorized occupants will be charged $75 per person per night for the entire reservation period, and if we find it necessary, we may revoke or terminate the reservation if occupancy limits are violated.

Parties, events, and excessive noise are strictly prohibited. Guests must comply with all city and county laws, and all local noise and safety ordinances during their stay. Please keep noise to a minimum between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM and respect the privacy and comfort of our long-term neighbors. Please note that our properties are protected by non-audio-recording noise decibel and crowd monitoring devices to prevent parties.

Pets are not permitted anywhere on the premises, unless explicitly approved in writing before arrival. Evidence of a pet may result in a Pet Cleaning Fee of up to $200 to deep clean, deodorize, and disinfect the home. If you are assisted by a service animal, please contact us before booking. Service animals may not be left unattended at any time anywhere on the premises.

Children under 14 years old may not be left unattended in the home at any time for safety reasons.

Please follow the parking instructions in your Ethos Home Portal and obey all posted traffic signs.

Unsanitary conditions such as excessive trash, spills, or strong odors that may attract pests are not permitted. Guests are responsible for keeping the home tidy during their stay. Major spills or stains on rugs, sofas, beds, or linens may result in an Excessive Cleaning Fee of up to $150. Permanently stained sheets or towels that can’t be restored will be charged at $18 each. Cleaning involving bodily fluids such as urine, blood, or vomit may result in a Biohazard Cleaning Fee of up to $250.

Modifying or altering the home and its contents is not permitted. Furniture, appliances, wall décor, and fixtures must not be moved or adjusted. Event decorations such as birthday signs, balloons, glitter and confetti removal may result in an Excessive Cleaning Fee of up to $150.

Tampering with security cameras is prohibited. Ethos properties and guests are protected with outdoor-only security cameras at entry doors. Unplugging, covering, disabling, or obstructing cameras may result in liability for damages, equipment replacement, and licensed reinstallation fees.

Firearms, weapons–real or replica, hazardous items, and open flames are prohibited, including candles, charcoal grills, fireworks, and any equipment that may increase risk of fire. Heating or cooking food on fire pit tables is not allowed and may result in an Excessive Cleaning Fee of up to $100.

Commercial photography, videography, or film production is only permitted with explicit written approval from Ethos Vacation Homes.

Great location, nicely remodeled , good size kitchen and clean bathrooms. Neighbors where a bit noisy with dogs, but all in all, a nice place to stay in. Adam was accommodating. One aspect that I did not like was leaving the VRBO app to enter my personal information on another site (Ethos) to get check in instructions. All should be in VRBO app and no need to enter personal information in managing site.

Carriage House

Overall, a very quaint, charming home that was clean and great for a short extended weekend stay. Property manager was communicative and nice. The home is a short drive from downtown. The neighborhood does have some vagrants, but that in some ways goes with the territory of being close to downtown, so it may be unavoidable. A negative is that we found the showers to be too small and we are not particularly large people. This was manageable though.

The Carriage House

This is a beautiful and historic mansion very close to Balboa Park and museums, the zoo, old town Gaslamp quarter, airport, and cruise ship terminal. There is free parking at Balboa and free trolleys that go from the park to the Gaslamp district and throughout the city where you can hop on and off to sightsee. The stay at The Carriage House is in a surprisingly quiet neighborhood with little traffic. The upper story of the house has 3 large bedrooms and the second bathroom with ceiling fans and windows that open for cool ocean breezes. Downstairs is another large bathroom, and a nice kitchen well stocked with anything you could possibly need to prepare meals. Costco is 8 minutes from the house, and I spent less than 300 to feed six people 3 meals a day for our four-day 3-night stay (including a decent wine at dinner). Communication with the host was easy and the one difficulty I had (my technological challenge) with checking in was immediately answered. I traveled with my 90 year old mother who absolutely loved the trip as she had peace and privacy when she needed. This was a 10/10 trip, and I look forward to returning.

What a great location

Beautiful home, conveniently located to everywhere you want to go while visiting San Diego. We walked pretty much everywhere. The beds were very comfortable and home was spotless. 10 out of 5 Stars.

Lovely stay

We have a perfectly nice stay at the Carriage House. It was perfectly roomy for six adults. Great location too, we spent time in Downtown San Diego, Mission Bay, and had come in from the airport and nothing was more than a half hour drive. Only issue was limited parking. Extra spaces were available on-site, so overnight parking would be nice, and then having only one car allowed during the day, but street parking was nearby and available.

historic victorian property at San Diego

Lovely and extremely clean victorian property in San Diego. The views are stunning! Very responsive property manager. Property had everythig we needed - rooms are spacious with comfortable beds,, kitchen, bathrooms - very clean and well kept. Highly recommended ! Prompt Response and Beautiful Renovation

Property manager was really great with providing all the information regarding my stay, he answered questions quickly. This made my stay enjoyable as I know what I was getting into prior to arriving. Every detail from the WiFi to places to eat and where to park. Inside the place was beautiful and well renovated. Would love to stay here again for even longer than a few days.
