Active duty military and had to travel later than intended and Despite prepaying for my room for the 4-night stay, upon arrival the next day, I was charged an additional $50 early check-in fee due to a no-show status, which I felt was unfair and unnecessary since I had already paid in advance. The room itself did not meet my expectations, especially when compared to other hotels I have stayed at in the area. Frustrated with the situation, I decided to leave and sought a refund, but the hotel staff, including the manager, showed a lack of compassion and refused to issue any refund, only offering to waive the early check-in fee. Apparently the way I booked caused the room to be non-refundable, BUT we all know hotels have enough money to issue a refund IF they want. Overall, I felt unwelcome and dissatisfied with the service, leading to a strong resolve never to return to the Canopy on the San Antonio Riverwalk.
