Magnificent stay in the French countryside.

We enjoyed our hosts immensely -- always helpful, full of fantastic suggestions for local things to try and to do - from night markets, wineries, to beaches and more! The pool was so nice to come home to, and we didn't have enough time to try all the games, bikes, and things available on site! It felt like home away from home in a region of France that is so relaxed, friendly, and welcoming. We were very grateful for our time there. Thanks to Leslie and Felix.

Zeer goede ontvangst en leuk welkom pakket. Zeer flexibele eigenaars die privacy respecteren. Leuke zwembadomgeving en veel spelmateriaal aanwezig. Wij komen zeker terug .

verblijf met 2 gezinnen in la fermette

Een gezellige, goed ingerichte woning met goed uitgeruste keuken zonder vaatwas. Tijdens extreem warme dagen bleef de woning goed koel. De overdekte schuur die bij het huis hoort is voorzien van een extra koelkast en zorgt dat je bij regenweer of hitte toch buiten kan zitten. Het zwembad is netjes en groot genoeg. Er zijn fietsen voorzien waarmee je naar de bakker en een kleine supermarkt kan. Voor uitstappen en grotere inkopen moet je de wagen nemen. Kajakken op de gironde is een aanrader om met kinderen te doen. De hosts zijn supervriendelijk en staan altijd klaar!

A gem of a place to enjoy the best of both worlds..... Rest or explore or both!!

We spent five wonderful days at La Fermette. This little gem of a place is perfect to just chill out and take in the relaxed atmosphere about the place or make the most of the beautiful towns/villages that are within easy reach.The decor, with its shabby chic style offers a relaxed aura and the moment you arrive you feel you are away from it all!! We visited nearby towns/villages, enjoyed the lovely restaurants, markets and vineyards and we were glad to sample our local purchases of vino and chill in the evenings. We stayed at the farmhouse which was very well equipped. Our room was well furnished and spacious with a very comfortable double bed and very tastefully decorated. The vast kitchen very well equipped too. Too much to do in very little time we could not take advantage of the bikes that are available and a game or two of table tennis which I would have enjoyed. That said, we look forward to returning to La Fermette in the not too distant future. Felix and Lesley, a big thank you. We absolutely loved your little 'corner' of France.

Fabulous holiday gite

We had a fabulous holiday at La Fermette. The peace and quiet was just what we wanted. The recommendations for bars and restaurants was really helpful. The folder giving information about the area and suggested activities and destinations was really well put together. We made use of the bikes, the table tennis and table football. We also really enjoyed the spring wine festival at Blaye that was recommended. The hosts went above and beyond what we had expected to make our stay enjoyable. We had a super time at La Fermette. Thank you for all the useful information and help with our adventure!

Wonderful farmhouse in a stunning rural setting

We stayed for a long weekend with a large group of friends/university reunion/birthday gathering - the facilities were perfect and there was plenty to entertain us including the games room with ping pong table, the large firepit, bat and ball sets, countryside for morning runs, private garden area for sunset watching, bicycles, a large barn for alfresco style dining and Pinot Cognac vineyards nearby! Our stay was very well organised with an informative pre-stay email, very easy driving directions from Bordeaux airport and stress-free check in details. We would highly recommend the property to others - either as a large group or as a couple since there is a range of accommodation on the plot from a large farmhouse with a well-equipped kitchen and living space to romantic studio style accommodation and cosy self-contained mezzanine apartments. The decor is shabby chic with plenty of charming cottage features to keep you intrigued! Thank you Lesley and Felix for a memorable weekend :-)

The perfect gite!

The gite was perfect- facilities were great and we particularly enjoyed using the barbecue while lazing around in the French sun and then watching the sun set! The barn opposite the gite was also perfect for evening dinners and we couldn't get enough of the table tennis in the games barn :-) we can't wait to go back again! Thanks so much for having us! :-)
