Your home, away from home!

The Crown Jewel Lodge is one of our largest most modern with a hit of cottage like aesthetics sitting on 9.8 acres. Sugar River runs across the estate in the back with pathways open for recreational activities, such as fishing, biking, hiking and many other activities. The Lodge is roughly 2,600 SQ FT with 3 floors including the basement 5 bedrooms, 2 on the top level, 1 on the mail level and 2 on the lower level. 2 full bathrooms and 1 half bathroom. Each level has its own bathroom. Three car garage, propane powered kitchen area, bar area, oven, stove, fridge, microwave and outdoor barbecue grill and lamb rotisserie oven along with bonfire pits. Hammock, lawn chairs, benches and more. The main level bathroom has a jet-propelled jacuzzi and the backyard has a jet-propelled hot tub on the wraparound. Entertainment areas on all 3 levels and SONOS surround sound speakers built into the cottage. Karaoke system as well. Air conditioned and ventilation equipped. Secure and designated. Verizon 4GLTE powered Internet Connection with extended WiFi. There is a beautiful designated smoking sun room that overlooks the river. Child's play area level 3, baby crib included along with many children games and entertainment areas. The lower level has a game area equipped with a pool table, dart table, ping pong, beer pong tables, and sitting area lounge included with your reservation. The lower level has its own walkout deck area as well. The maximum capacity sleeps up to 18 adults and children. The estate is pet friendly and is equipped with an electric fence. The cabin was very cozy and relaxing and the beds were comfortable. The cabin was well stocked with toilet paper and clean towels and was very clean. The hot tub and tub worked great and the fire place was stocked with plenty of wood. The sound system wasn’t working because the internet was down but we had brought our own blue tooth speaker so our stay and small family wedding turned out very lovely. We were very thankful for the hosts making their place available. The hosts were very responsive and kind. They were open to leaving their Christmas decorations up longer and even allowed us to check in early.We look forward to celebrating our anniversary in the future if the Crown Jewel is available in the future. Thank God, wow it was such a lovely visit.We were very thankful.

As soon as we stepped in the home, we felt the warmth and cozy vibe of cabin living. We had enough room for 15 people. One of us was limited to first floor due to recent foot surgery , but was able to glide around the home with a knee scooter easily. Our host was immediately avail when we had questions. Dining table was used for large card games and other Xmas games. We stayed during freezing rain and snow storm but the weather didn’t interrupt our time together. Pros: windows, appliances, garage to home entryway, 3-car garage, hot tub. The property was great for walking and enjoying the winter weather and walking the 3 dogs! Some adults even used the sleds. What can be improved: one bedroom downstairs didn’t have privacy such as a door. Could add more seating/meeting space downstairs such as a small bar or card table & chairs. Another shower. Only because with 15 people, it took longer.

We had a wonderful time, the house was clean and so beautiful if you're looking for a log cabin vibe to relax at, this is the house. It was a family getaway. And everyone enjoyed it, the grandparents the couples, and grandchildren all loved it

The house is spacious and clean, with plenty of room to gather—including a cozy living room with high ceilings, a big dining table perfect for meals, a front patio for relaxing and watching the rain, and a back deck for outdoor hangouts. The fire pit is a nice touch, though the swing and outdoor chairs could use some repair or updating. There's ample parking and the property is pet-friendly, which was a huge plus. Communication with the host was excellent—friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay.There are a few things to be aware of, especially if you're traveling with young kids. The outdoor space wasn't quite as advertised—the trails had poison ivy, and the stairs down to the river were damaged, with missing steps that caused a few people to trip. The deck balusters were widely spaced, posing a fall risk for little ones if not closely supervised. The gates at the stairwell were not secure, and one of the bunk beds had a broken ladder. Also, the bathroom layout could be inconvenient—only one full bathroom is accessible to everyone, while the other is located inside the master bedroom, meaning others would have to pass through to use the shower.Great for relaxing on-site. Stores 15 min, lakes 30 min, Dow Gardens & Lake Huron park 50 min away.In summary, this is a great spot for large groups of adults or teens looking for a comfortable, pet-friendly getaway, but it may not be the best fit for families with young children due to some safety concerns.

A lovely home with plenty of space and bathrooms for us all. It was in a nice wooded setting. We enjoyed the nature trails and walk down to the river. We wish we had been able to access the river directly behind the house as in the past.

Disappointing experience

We rented this property with high hopes, but unfortunately, we left disappointed due to a few issues. Firstly, there were no working smoke detectors in the home, which is a major safety concern and a non-negotiable for me. Secondly, the hot tub was in terrible condition – the water looked green and filthy.For future guests, I hope these important matters are taken seriously and fixed promptly. It’s a shame because the location and overall layout of the home were nice, but safety and cleanliness should always come first.

Great place for a family getaway

Beautiful home that was well decorated for the holiday season. Plenty of space for an extended family of 18. Cleanliness was 10/10. Driveway was plowed and salted which was a great peace of mind with the winter weather. Would highly recommend. Hours of fun and laughter to be had in the many spaces.

Great Family Thanksgiving Stay!

My family and I stayed here for thanksgiving! The house is great and the perfect log cabin! We have 11 people and a couple of dogs and there was room and bedrooms for everyone which worked out perfectly! The property is awesome and will be staying here again soon!

Overall a great stay in a beautiful home.

Nonstick cookware was scratched up. Lots of cooking utensils provided. Corn kernals found in one bed, pinecones found in another. Plenty of towels provided, but could use more wash cloths. Night stand in master bedroom unstable. Liggts are dim, could use more/brighter lighting. Directions to home via Google Maps are about 1/2 mile off. Overall a beautiful home. Host very responsive to messages.
