Down a Country road, across from the river. With only 5mins drive to town.
A well equipped house with Freeview, free access to netflix, wifi available. Plenty of off road parking. We are also pet friendly.
With various activities around to keep you busy as you want.!
Maybe go down to the river to do a spot of fishing or Stroll along the beach track then head to one of Hokitika's many cafes for coffee. Wander around Hokitika's Craft Shops or out to the Hokitika Gorge then to the treetop walkway. Hire a bike and do the Bike Trail. See the Glow worms. Or maybe a game of golf. Or just out to the lakes.
Also a drive to the Franz Josef Glacier which is only one and a half hours drive or up to Punakaiki Pancake Rocks.
Then after a busy day back to the house- relax and on colder days light the fire or
switch on the heat pump.
Maybe head up to Woodstock tavern for that dinner and music. Or into town to Lunch/Dinner at Stumpers Restaurant or the Ocean View Restaurant.

While we only stayed one night here, it was the perfect location to get away from the noise of town traffic yet very close to Hokitika and right on the way to the Hokitika Gorge. There were only two of us but perfect spot for family with children or couples travelling together.

What a lovely home in a great location just five minutes in car from Hokitika Town. Very spacious home and it was lovely and warmwith the log burner and heat pump. Beds so comfy and warm, we had the best sleep! Hosts very communicative and friendly. Go do the Hokitika Gorge walk and the Tree Top walk . Definitely visit this beautiful part of the country , friendly people and lots to explore. Would most definitely stay at this property again. Thank you Linley and Tony. Mandy (61) and Dianna (88)

Great one night stopover

We were in transit, relocating from one end of the South Island to the other and needed a one night stopover. We were travelling with a small puppy and were having difficulty finding somewhere dog friendly. Riverview was a great option, very comfortable and we appreciate the host allowing us to have a dog stay too. Shame we were passing through and only had 1 night

Cosy and cracking view

Lovely cosy villa - as it’s name suggests right on the Hokitika river. Clean, comfortable, and nice and quiet - and the powerful hot shower was awesome! We enjoyed the stay.

Homely, felt so comfortable. Everything a home would have. Loved having the cleaning gears and vacuum. Loved it for 4 nights like our own home. Safe spot right next to the river. Generous dry firewood. Could take a breath in the green surroundings, beats a motel anyway. Beautiful True Kiwi host. We felt nurtured by a beauty spot. Thank you Whanau.

Overall, it is a nice place to stay. Easy and friendly communication with the host Lynley. The only disappointment was that the dvd player was not fully operational, as it had no sound. We had brought a few dvds with us that we hoped to use. Lynley did her best to try and solve this matter, but unfortunately it wasn't able to be fixed before we left. We recommend that this and any other devices be checked first before listing them as being available.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOUSE!!! Absolutely brilliant house for larger group. Five adult men stayed for five nights and the house was spacious and well equipped. View across to the river so peaceful. Owner so accommodating and welcoming. Quick drive to pub for meals or into town for shopping and tourism things. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR A GREAT HOUSE

Nice large house with lots of appliances and utensils. Well set up. Friendly hosts to make you feel at home.The kitchen and bathroom /laundry mostly clean just needing attention to detail like top of the fridge, rangehood and cobwebs. These are minor things on the whole it was pretty clean.Would not hesitate to come back to stay again.Recommended.

Not far from town but on the outskirts, either drive or cycle the excellent cycleways to town. Huge property, quiet and private. Really well equipped. A good place to be central to everything but come to for rest and relaxing. Great find.
