The Good: the room was clean and spacious, It was very convenient as it was across the train station.
The OK: it was in a site in Rome that is not particularly pretty, and at the beginning I thought it was quite creepy. However, we never felt unsafe. So it was just ugly, but the convenience of it overweighted this.
The really bad: This was not really a hotel, but a "guest house". this meant that there was no Name at the door, or any staff to receive you. Because of this, we were hours trying to find the location, thinking that we were in the wrong part of town. This was not only us, but we encountered the same complaint with other guests that occupied the same "apartment" in a different room. Furthermore, it seems that at this address there are other "guest houses" that similarly are announced in Expedia, but not clearly defined as guest house. That was the case of an elderly couple that I tried to help, that was for hours trying to get a phone number and somebody that would respond to their reservation done through Expedia at the same address, but with a different name. I think Expedia should be responsible for alerting people what kind of property is this. It is really not fair to travelers to have to encounter this.
So. overall, after taking into account the troubles above, I still give 4 stars, because the room was great and the place very convenient. However, travelers should be ALERTED that this is not a hotel.
