"The “showers” are dated, bathrooms appalling, hallways depressing. It is not ADA compliant. No decent mirrors, ice, hooks in bathroom, counters in bathroom, no notepad or pen, no food in town. It was awful."

"Because of the Marathon thru the Avenue of the Giants was this weekend, it was very hard to find a room. This was the only place available and even though the rates were extremely high, we were pleasantly surprised with the property and staff. the early breakfast was an added benefit before we hit the road to the Redwood National Parks. I would stay there again if in the area. Front desk staff was very helpful."

"Nice historic building in the center of town. Very nicely maintained and the staff are quiet but friendly enough. The back of the hotel can get noisy with nightly alley mini parties. Our bed was basically U-shaped and we struggled to not roll into the middle of the bed. That was our only complaint. Parking is excellent and there’s a very good sushi restaurant in the lobby. There’s also a good number of places to eat around the plaza and in the surrounding neighborhoods."

"This place is all about location. The experience in a 2-room suite was like staying at the home of an elderly relative who hasn’t updated their furnishings since the 70s. The rooms were spacious but a bit musty and quite worn. But it’s half a block to the main street so overall it’s a good choice if you don’t mind the thin walls and shag carpeting."

"Excellent evening staff checking us in and excellent server handling both the bar and the dinner tables. Dinner was excellent. Breakfast was very good. Again, the staff were all very good and attentive and helpful. The only thing that I would have liked was to have screens on the windows which would have allowed us to leave the windows open at night to cool down the room. "Actually the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The plastic plants and flowers are cheesy, and the host was mediocre. The place was way over rated!"
