Cosy and comfortable cottage, pet friendly, woodburning stove, near village pub

3 Crown Courtyard is a cosy and comfortable, newly renovated mid-terrace stone cottage. It is situated in the pretty Yorkshire Dales village of Grewelthorpe, in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). There are great walks and cycle rides from the door. Grewelthorpe is conveniently located for visiting North Yorkshire’s many attractions. The property is near to the village pub which offers a warm welcome and great food most days.

Downstairs, the open plan living room and kitchen provide versatile accommodation. The living area includes a wood burning stove, a comfortable leather sofa bed, television with Freesat channels, and dining area. The well equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, a newly fitted hob, oven and grille, toaster, microwave, kettle and a great view of St. James’s Church! Wifi is available throughout.

Upstairs, the newly fitted bathroom has a large shower, toilet, wash basin, and a heated towel rail. The calm and relaxing bedroom features a comfortable double bed, a large built in wardrobe, a stylish dressing table and access to the airing cupboard. A chest of drawers is located nearby on the landing.

Outside, a bench is provided to enjoy the small south facing terrace. An allocated parking space is available. The cottage is conveniently located one minute away from the Crown Inn. The Inn has recently re-opened under new management and offers a warm welcome and great food most days.

Grewelthorpe is a small but lively village, with a picturesque duck pond and village hall with a café that opens daily. The footpath to the popular ancient Hackfall Woods leads directly from the cottage. This provides easy access to a network of scenic footpaths. Also in Grewelthorpe is the Himalayan Sculpture Garden.

Grewelthorpe lies between the unspoilt market town of Masham (4 miles away) and the historic city of Ripon (7 miles). Also easily accessible by car are the popular spa town of Harrogate and high street of the year in Pateley Bridge. Other very popular local attractions include stunning Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal World Heritage Site, the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks, Ripley Castle, breweries in Masham and endless scenic views. Slightly further afield are the North Yorkshire coastline and the fascinating city of York.

Good communication beforehand, the cottage was in a lovely quiet village, 30 seconds walk to the village pub, log burner was lovely, access to a walk in a beautiful woods close by. The cottage had everything you need to enjoy your stay, we had a lovely relaxing time.

Fabulous stay in a great village location with private parking, right next door to the village pub. Check in was seamless and communications with the owners were faultless. We really enjoyed this cosy cottage and will be sure to book again if we find ourselves returning to the area.

Five Stars This was yet another fantastic stay at this lovely holiday cottage. It’s dog-friendly, which is always a huge bonus for us, and the location couldn’t be more perfect — right in the heart of all the fabulous local walks. Having a great pub next door with delicious food and a welcoming community feel just adds to the charm.This isn’t our first visit, and it certainly won’t be our last. Great location, everything you might need was in the cottage, good pub on site. Rug was slippy-slidy. Couch sank rapidly and my head got banged on the staircase frame, not nice.

Perfect location to enjoy the best of the area!

Loved the location, woodland walk on your doorstep with stunning views. Pub open Wednesday to Sunday offering great food and drink. Dog friendly, amazing! Plus we traveled no more than an 8 mile radius, there’s just so much in your doorstep if you love walking in the countryside and have a dog! Thank you, can’t wait to stay again. Xx

Beautiful cottage in the Yorkshire Dales

Situated in the Yorkshire Dales in the beautiful village of Grewelthorpe the cottage met expectations and a lot more. A cosy accommodation with all the creature comforts you would expect in a place with high standards. Spend a little time exploring the village of Grewelthorpe when you’re there and a meal at the nearby Crown Inn. Further afield explore the beautiful Yorkshire Dales with its quaint and picturesque villages and the beauty of the surrounding areas are stunning.

Perfect!

This lovely little cottage was just perfect for me and my 2 dogs. It was immaculately clean, comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. Really enjoyed the woodburner on a couple of more chilly evenings, the shower is great (and very roomy!) the bed was super comfortable too. The area is lovely, with the enchanting Hackfall Wood just a short walk away. Masham is very pretty and we had a lovely lunch at the very dog friendly/welcoming Kings Head. Highly recommend this property and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Working near by

The cottage is lovely, definitely bijou or cozy. The TV was awkward to work out with limited channel choice. The property was also listed as being in the next village along. As I was there for work I couldn't take advantage of the country side but I thoroughly enjoyed the cottage especially the wood burner. With luck I'll be able to return for leisure when the weather is better.

Lovely stay in a rural hamlet

Well presented and very clean. Comfy bed. Had everything we needed. Lovely walks in the area via the sculpture gardens & hack falls (beware some of the ROWs seem to have been blocked off by the landowners.) Despise a mix up with check out times overall we had a lovely stay, thanks.

Perfect, cosy cottage.

The cottage was perfect for our holiday break. Using directions given was easy to find. Everything we needed was at hand, very comfortable and clean. Julia and Peter were very helpful answering questions and queries when I booked the cottage and kept me updated. Grewelthorpe is a beautiful village with plenty to do around the the area. Highly recommend.

Disappointed

Positives- keysafe entry, directions from owner, quite location & ideally situated to travel to places. Negatives- Strong dog odour embedded on furnishings, property didn't feel clean, wifi constantly lost signal. Cottage really needs some work especially the bathroom.
