Villa Metochi | Authentic Cretan Family Retreat

Welcome to a timeless Cretan estate where family tradition meets outdoor freedom. Lovingly built and continuously refined by our family over the years, Villa Metochi beautifully marries rustic charm with modern comfort, offering sweeping views of the Aegean Sea and rolling olive groves. Located in the peaceful area of Megalo Metochi, the estate provides absolute privacy while being just a 6-minute drive (3 km) from the historic centre of Rethymno, sandy beaches, and major supermarkets.


The estate features a highly versatile layout consisting of a spacious single-storey main house of 90 sq.m. (2 bedrooms, sleeps 4) and a fully independent 40 sq.m. studio (sleeps 2-3), comfortably hosting up to 7 guests (maximum 6 adults) in total. This smart setup provides ideal flexibility for multi-generational families or groups of friends, offering great autonomy for grandparents or teenagers.

For groups of up to 4 guests, the main house is booked exclusively. For larger groups up to 6, both spaces are booked together by selecting "6 guests" in your search. A supplement (80 euros per night) applies for the studio, otherwise it remains closed and locked during your stay, ensuring you still enjoy 100% exclusive use of the entire external property, pool, and grounds with zero shared spaces.


Inside the main house, you will find a bright open-plan living room with traditional wooden ceilings, two large comfortable sofas, a monastery-style dining table, and a fully equipped kitchen. It offers two separate bedrooms (one double and one twin) and a modern bathroom with a shower cabin.
The independent studio, set approximately 15 metres away, offers full privacy and rustic-style furnishings, featuring its own kitchen, individual air-conditioning, a washing machine, a bathroom, one single bed, and one semi-double bed.


Outdoor Living & Paradise Grounds:

The centerpiece of the gated 2,500 sq.m. estate is a sparkling 9-metre private swimming pool surrounded by a beautiful lawn area, Mediterranean gardens and fruit trees. Depending on the season, guests are welcome to taste fresh, organic fruits picked straight from our trees. Full BBQ facilities with a large outdoor table and a ping-pong table are also available for your leisure. It is an absolute haven for children, featuring an outdoor wooden playground equipped with fun sand toys where they can play safely.


Indoor Family & Kids Equipment:

To ensure a seamless family holiday, a complete inventory of premium baby gear is provided inside the house upon request, including travel cot, high chair, stroller, bouncer, baby bath, toilet adaptor, bed guard and baby monitors. Parents will also find a rich selection of children's books and indoor toys inside the house to keep the little ones happily entertained during the quieter hours of the day.

• Fresh bed linen, blankets, bed covers, extra pillows, as well as high-quality bath and pool towels are fully provided for your stay.
• Housekeeping service is provided every 3 to 4 days, and professional pool/garden maintenance takes place twice a week to ensure everything is pristine.
• Bespoke concierge services can be organised upon request for an extra charge, including car or motorbike rentals, private airport transfers, yacht cruises, tailored excursions, daily housekeeping or your starter grocery shopping. Professional services such as babysitting, private swimming lessons and specialised in-water rehabilitation sessions can also be arranged.
• In accordance with Greek law, a Climate Resilience Tax of 15 Euros per night applies to villa rentals, which is handled directly through the booking platform.
• Please note that the estate’s storage rooms are strictly private and locked for utility/maintenance purposes. The resident dog mentioned in older guest reviews is no longer on the property.
