I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding our recent two-night stay at the Sandman Hotel in Red Deer, Alberta.
Upon arrival, we were initially assigned a room with visibly stained bedding and urine on the toilet seat. This was unacceptable and immediately reported. While we were disappointed, we do appreciate that staff promptly moved us to another room. The second room was cleaner; however, the refrigerator was not functioning. Staff were again helpful and provided a working fridge so that we could safely store food and medications.
Additionally, we were informed upon arrival that the pool and hot tub were closed. These amenities were the primary reason we chose to book this hotel, and this closure was not clearly communicated at the time of booking.
Although the staff were professional, courteous, and accommodating throughout our stay, the overall condition of the room and the lack of access to advertised amenities significantly affected our experience. Due to these issues, we will not be returning.
Given the circumstances, I am requesting appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and discomfort experienced during our stay. I would also appreciate a response outlining how this matter will be addressed.
