Alongside its unique history, the cottage features a wood-fired hot tub seating six, ideal for unwinding after a day of fun. Just 20 minutes from the ski field and close to the famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing, it’s a great base for exploration. Raurimu is a charming small settlement located in the Ruapehu District, renowned for its engineering marvel, the Raurimu Spiral. This remarkable railway spiral allows trains to ascend 139 meters through a series of sharp curves and looping back on itself. The town also boasts many historical buildings, offering an engaging and picturesque stroll through a neighbourhood rich in history and character.

There is ample parking available on the property. The quiet town of Raurimu is best explored on foot, allowing you to fully appreciate the intricate details of the historical buildings you pass.
Most of the town's roads are either tar-sealed or well-maintained gravel.

Linens:
Linens are available for $20 per guest, which includes sheets, pillowcases, towels, and tea towels.

Fireplace:
The cozy three-bedroom home is easily kept toasty with the large fireplace in the heart of the living room. Throughout the winter, this fireplace not only warms the home but heats the water and radiators.
Plenty of firelighting materials and firewood will be provided.

Trains:
The property borders the train tracks, a delightful feature for train enthusiasts. While passing trains may cause a bit of a rumble, it adds a unique touch of character to your stay.
