Riley's Retreat Hot Tub and air conditioning!

Riley’s Retreat is a great house for families. It is in a great location, just off Highway 385 and near the beautiful Pactola Reservoir. The back yard is the National Forest.
The main level has a kitchen, dining room, a sunken living room , and a bedroom with a king bed. The living room has a hide-a-bed couch. The bathroom on this level has a shower. There are three levels in the house, and the main level has central air. There is a deck with a great view of the mountains. There is also room on the deck to grill.
The upper level has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds. You have to walk through the room with the queen bed to get to the room with the twin beds. There is a window air conditioner in the upper level.
The lower level also has central air, as well as a living room with a TV, a bedroom with a queen bed, and a bathroom with a shower and tub. There is also a room with a queen bed on this level. There are washer and dryer facilities on the lower level. There is a four-person hot tub here as well.
Please be aware that there are spiral staircases connecting the upper and lower levels to the main level. If you’re staying with kids or older people, there’s a child gate you can use to block off the stairs.
There’s parking for four vehicles and 1 16 ft trailer. Additional trailer parking is available at our office.

we made a last minute decision to go to the Hills and we were thankful to find this house! The owners were great to communicate with and the kitchen was fully stocked and we were able to eat every breakfast and evening there. I will say that the only downside is that it is way off the beaten path haha! It was nice and quiet location but you are far from any town ammenities. My husband also said I needed to add that the upstairs bed was soooo incredibly hard. My kids never complained about their beds, but other than that, we enjoyed our stay and it suited us for what we needed.

End of road privacy. The smell from the sewage treatment pond downhill from the property was not the best. Strong Oder on a number of occasions was noticed. Also, the micromanaging of our A-C use and window operation was odd, very odd. The manner in which management shared their concern was poor. A more cordial way of sharing the concern would be way better. We were left with the feeling of being scolded for one single window being left open. Odd way to treat fellow adults and guests.

This was our second time at Rileys retreat. Our family loves the quite and remoteness of the cabin. If you have never visited the Black Hills, the drive into the property is a great introduction to the area. Julie was great in sending us the booking info- both email and text. Very little cell service at the property but the wifi worked well.

It's a beautiful setting. We loved it. It was a challenge to drive out of the mountains each day to get to other attractions. There are no stores or gas stations within maybe 45 minutes drive, so the host may want to mention that in the listing.

Pretty good

House was clean and comfortable. The property was listed as having 6 bedrooms but there were only 5. There was not enough toilet paper for our entire stay. The dishwasher made loud noises, the ice maker froze solid, and the coffee maker didn’t heat the pot. None of this was too bad but just a little inconvenient when those were things we expected.

Cabin in the Woods

This was a great location for us. The host was very responsive and the cabin cute and clean. The location is well off any busy roads and was nice and quiet. Deer passed through the property every morning as we had coffee on the deck. I would not hesitate to return to the cabin. Thank you.

Clean

Cabin was clean, the location was a little misleading. It said it was 11.8 miles from keystone but it was not. When I put keystone into my maps from the cabin it was more like 22 miles. Maybe it was 11.8 miles from the mailbox but not the actual cabin. Very hard to get up the roads to the cabin in our van but a truck would probably have less issues. The cabin was clean and check in and out was simple and great!

Wonderful Rental!

What a beautiful rental! We had everything we needed (and then some) and the view in the backyard is absolutely amazing! This rental sleeps a lot but we each still felt like we had our own privacy with the many separate rooms. We would absolutely recommend this rental to anyone.

Riley's Retreat was a Treat for a group of friends.

College friends enjoyed our stay at the house. We enjoyed the hot tub and the deer and turkey we saw near the house. Very peaceful and the house met our needs. Our host, Julie, went out of her way to accommodate us and even delivered a new coffee maker in the evening when we discovered the current one did not work. Greatly appreciated! Highly recommend you stay at this home.

Great location for trail riding

We came to the Black Hills for a weekend of fall trail riding in our side by side. We had 2 trailers and parking was great as well as getting the trailers in and out without too much trouble. The hot tub was a nice place to start the day and living areas accommodated our group and offered separate when needed. Would come back again, highly recommend as a fall destination!

The house was perfect for our needs! Julie was quick to reply and very helpful with questions about the area as well as about the property! Heads up for those pulling trailers, the driveway has a pretty steep hill and tight curve/corner. We would definitely stay here again!!!
