The stay at Forest Lake was absolutely perfect. Do yourself the biggest service and DO NOT MISS the dinner by Chef Joao. He created such a wonderful menu that holds up to any Michelin restaurant (hint: this place deserves at least two!).

Beautiful property tucked into a nature area (with horses and goats and an edible garden!). The buildings were very modern in contrast to the surroundings, which I found visually appealing. We stayed in one of the new rooms. it didn't have a kitchenette (which we didn't need), but it was spacious and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the shower perfect - there was even a towel warmer. The deck off the room was fully covered meaning you could sit outside even while it was raining and not get wet. This was great for us as we had one day of full rain (unusual for the time of year). Though we didn't use the pool, it was beautiful to look at. Using the sauna, steam room and plunge pool was a great way to end the day. Breakfast was full of choices and very good. The dinner looks amazing, but we weren't able to try it due to other plans. everyone that works there is friendly and helpful. We completely enjoyed our stay!

Die Betten und der Spa-Bereich sind super. Wir hatten den Spa-Bereich meist fast für uns alleine, daher hat die geringe Größe gepasst. Die Lage und auch die Ruhe der Unterkunft sind toll - vorausgesetzt auch andere Gäste halten sich daran, wir hatten da leider eine weniger erholsame Nacht durch sehr laute andere Gäste. Das Bad in der 2. Villa ist renovierungsbedürftig, eine ordentliche Dusche sollte dort eingebaut werden ebenso wie ein neuer Wasserhahn am Waschbecken, welcher total lose war. Man sieht der Villa vor allem im Bad an, dass sie einige Jahre auf dem Buckel haben muss. An einem Tag wurde kein Room-Service durchgeführt, weil offenbar andere Gäste zu spät ausgeheckt haben und das Reinigungspersonal zeitlich nicht mehr hinterher kam. Da wir nachts abreisen mussten, mussten wir mit unseren Koffern durch den unbefestigten Garten, weil die üblichen Wege nachts abgeschlossen werden - auch nicht ganz optimal. Alles in allem okay, mit einigem leicht umzusetzenden Verbesserungspotential.

Amazing family-run location in paradise at the Furnas lake and a short drive from Furnas village. The cottages are super, well furnished and with a very good bed. There is a small outdoor area to enjoy your morning coffee amidst hydrangeas! It is easy to keep distance and I recommend staying here even now with the ongoing Covid pandemic. Last but not least, the staff are very friendly.

What an absolute dream of a space - inside and out! We loved every minute of our stay at Furnas Lake Forest Living. The location is a perfect home base for getting around the island, exploring hot springs, and hiking. There are several local hikes within walking distance or 5-10 mins driving. The decor is sleek and comfortable with lovely attention to detail. We also had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant which is a MUST-- the best food we had during our stay. We'd highly recommend Furnas and are eager to return as well.

Impeccable. I wanted a nice upscale stay and the well known hotel with the garden was not super accommodating when I called them to reschedule my trip, in fact they were rude. I decided to take a chance and find somewhere else and did I find a gem! We stayed in the Villa. It was incredible and the grounds were stunning. A short walk to the lake as well. I have a feeling this is an up and coming place that will be tough to book in the future, stay here, it’s an incredible stay. The people make the place as well, sweet, kind and genuine

Amazing experience

We really loved our stay at Furnas. The hotel staff was nice and helpful, breakfast buffet was excellent (it didn’t vary over the 5 days though), the cabin was great and we made good use of our kitchenette (microwave didn’t work). The pool isn’t heated and the weather gets a bit chilly in certain days but it’s not profound so it wasn’t too bad. The hotel proposed a zip line activity which was a lot of fun. The restaurant was only upon reservation at night (4 or 6 course menu) and quite pricey, you had to cook your own lunch or take the car to go downtown 15mn from there. I scored comfort slightly down because of the 2 new buildings they were building literally next to our cabin, the noise would go on all day and didn’t even stop during lunchtime which made it complicated to use the balcony… but all in all an amazing experience!

From the moment you arrive at Furnas Lake Forest Living, you feel a sense of calm. The reception was easy to find and we received a very warm welcome and explanation of the property, then were guided to our house. It was a very personal experience and I appreciated the attentiveness of the staff. The houses are secure, quiet, immaculately clean, and situated in a stunning forested area. There are even koi fish in the moat around the houses. All of the finishings were thoughtful and on brand for the location. We were able to enjoy the a la carte breakfast prior to checking out, and it was both delicious and satisfying. I'm very sad that we were unable to secure a reservation for dinner due to a conflicting reservation, but that just means we are due for a trip back! They are working on a spa and additional houses, which will make an already spectacular experience even better, I'm sure. Obrigada for making us feel right at home during our short stay. Can't wait to visit again (for longer this time).

Beautiful Resort - Needs Some Amenities

I should say to start - the resort overall is beautiful and location wonderful. The unit we stayed in was spacious and clean; the restaurant is fantastic, both in terms of quality and appearance; the staff are friendly and helpful. However, there a couple issues that are related to climate and location that the resort needs to account for. Things get wet and stay wet - there was basically no means to dry our clothes. There are no dryers or fans in the units, so it is impossible to get rid of moisture, given the high humidity and nearly constant rain. The unit definitely smelled of mildew and, perhaps, mold - not the healthiest I am sure. At the very least, providing guests with strong fans I think is essential...
