Gaia Stone House

A characterful stone-and-wood house in the heart of Vila Nova de Gaia, ideal for guests who want to explore Porto while staying close to the Douro riverfront, the famous wine cellars and the local atmosphere of Gaia.

Recently refreshed, the house (with 60 square meters) combines authentic stone walls, warm wooden beams and an open-plan living area with modern comfort. It is a good fit for couples, families with teenagers or small groups looking for a practical and well-located base, with a more distinctive feel than a standard city apartment.

Please note that the house is set across different levels and includes stairs. The second bedroom is located on the lower basement level and has no windows, so it is more enclosed and less bright than the main suite.

Living Room & Dining Area:

The main living area is open and welcoming, with exposed stone, wooden beams and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. It is a comfortable space to unwind after a day exploring Porto and Gaia.

Kitchen:

Please note that there is no microwave.

Bedrooms:

The house has two bedrooms, with different layouts and levels of comfort.

- Upper Suite

The upper floor features a spacious and elegant suite with a queen-size bed, air conditioning and a bright, cozy atmosphere. The wooden beams, sloped ceiling and stone details give the room a distinctive charm.

The suite includes an en-suite bathroom area with shower and sink. Please note that part of the bathroom layout is integrated into the bedroom space, so privacy is more limited than in a fully separate bathroom.

- Lower Twin Bedroom

On the lower basement level, there is a second bedroom with two single beds, a writing desk and wardrobe/storage space.

This room is functional and useful for additional guests, teenagers or short practical stays. However, it has no windows, limited natural light and a more enclosed feel.

Bathrooms:

The house has two bathrooms with showers.

One bathroom area is integrated into the upper suite. The second bathroom is located on the lower level and serves the rest of the house.

Laundry:

Outside the house, there is a private laundry area with a washing machine.

Outdoor / Entrance Area:

The entrance patio is shared with other residents. It is not a private terrace or garden, but it gives the house a pleasant and more residential arrival experience.

Nearby, you can explore the famous Port wine cellars, enjoy walks along the Douro riverfront and take in the views over Ribeira and the D. Luís I Bridge. Porto city centre is easily reachable by metro, making this a practical choice for guests who want to stay close to the main sights while enjoying a slightly calmer local base on the Gaia side.

On the other side of the Douro river, Vila Nova de Gaia wings you back to the 17th-century beginnings of port-wine production, when British merchants transformed wine into the post-dinner tipple of choice by adding a dash of brandy. Their grand lodges sit imposingly astride the Douro, inviting you for tours of barrel-lined cellars, tastings, and dinner at rooftop terraces with twinkling views of the historic centre opposite.
Currently Vila Nova de Gaia is a modern and developed city with great transportation services, including direct subway connection to Porto City Center (only 10 minutes ride!).

If you're arriving by plane, there are some options to get to the apartment.

￫ Metro
The cheapest is the subway, with a 35-40 minutes ride. The closest subway station (Câmara de Gaia) is only 300 meters away from the property.

￫ Cars
If you have a rental car, please notice that there's no free parking in the area.
Taxi or Uber are also possibilities to get to the apartment, but for a faster and easier arrival, book our Airport Transfer Service (subject to an extra cost).

￫ The property is Self-Catered. Complimentary basic items are provided for your arrival, including first-day toiletries, toilet paper, etc. These items are offered on a welcome basis only - replacements or re-fills are not provided.
￫ Bed and bath linen are provided according to the number of guests confirmed in the reservation. For stays longer than 7 nights, additional bed and bath linen will be provided for free at the check-in.
￫ The Cleaning Fee included in your reservation covers the check-out cleaning only. Extra cleanings or fresh linens can be requested during your stay and are subject to an extra fee - these requests must be done with at least 24 hours in advance.
￫ Check-in time starts at 15:00 and check-out must be done until 11:00(am). Before leaving, please place the keys inside the lockbox. Only one set of keys will be provided.
￫ During the stay, the guest is responsible for the safekeeping and proper use of the property's keys. Please avoid leaving them in the lock or mailbox. In the event that a specialized technician is needed for door opening or in case of damage to the key and/or lock, the costs associated with this service will be the responsibility of the guest. In case of key loss, a penalty will be applied.
