The Space: #StayinMyDistrict Overlook Backyard Tiny Suite. This tiny home is a comfortable backyard retreat. Small seating area, kitchen and bathroom located on the main level, queen loft bed upstairs. The bedroom area is an open loft upstairs with a comfortable queen-sized bed. The space is compact with low ceilings but serves as a nice space to rest and relax. NOTE** The bed is accessed by compact stairs and there is no railway on stairs or open loft. This space may not be the suitable for small children or for persons with physical limitations. This is not a pet friendly property.
Small kitchenette is set up efficiently to prepare a meal. Kitchen is stocked with basic utensils, dinnerware and small appliances: small refrigerator, hot plate, electric skillet, microwave, and coffee maker make preparation simple. There is a college sized refrigerator as well as a small sink, however there is NO dishwasher, stove or oven. Kitchen is attached to a small seating area with seating to accommodate up to (2) and a table for eating or working remote.
There is a smart TV on the wall in the main space that can be viewed from both the main level as well as the loft. Smart TV, set up for streaming, and wireless Internet. Nightlights on each side of the bed makes snuggling up and reading a book or catching up on your favorite show enjoyable.
Bathroom is equipped with the essentials, paper products and high-quality linens, are provided for guest. In typical tiny style, the bathroom is designed with small space in mind. Shower, extra small sink and toilet located off the kitchenette, and a barn door for privacy.
There is a covered patio with outdoor seating. Perfect for your morning coffee or glass of wine on a nice evening. The cottage entrance is behind the main home in the backyard, and accessed along the driveway of the main home.
FREE Street parking is located down the street. (Home is located down a dead end lane- Parking is NOT available on the street directly in front of the home- approx 1/2 block away)
Guest Access: Guests have access to the entire space. The large backyard area is NOT for guest use and is reserved for the main home. Covered deck is for Tiny house guests ONLY. Entrance to the tiny house is behind the main house. FREE Street parking is located down the street. (Home is located down a dead end lane- Parking is NOT available on the street directly in front of the home- approx 1/2 block away)
The Neighborhood: Overlook neighborhood is one of Portland’s favorite neighborhoods, especially the section that is in the Overlook Triangle, and close to the Overlook. As you are going out along busy bustling Killingsworth headed from I-5, suddenly you are hit with absolutely breathtaking views of Downtown Portland and Mt. Hood looking out across the river. You can also see Forest Park and the West Hills over the Industrial River area. As you curve around you see the arched bridges of Portland silhouetted by Downtown. People are walking and biking all along the way. Overlook is bordered by the Willamette River on the SW, the Freemont Bridge on the south, I-5 to the east and Ainsworth and Willamette to the north. It is just minutes to downtown by car of bike or just hop on the MAX. It borders Arbor Lodge neighborhood, University Park, Boise–Eliot and the Willamette River! Overlook Neighborhood is a highly sought-after neighborhood and a place that many desire to live in! It has much to offer. Gorgeous homes of all styles, Craftsman Colonial, Old English, Tudor, Bungalows even New Orleans French along wide tree lined streets with well-kept yards and lots of flowers! The ones along Willamette on the river have sweeping views. People are biking and walking everywhere. There is Adidas right off Greeley and to the North is the University of Portland and it’s beautiful grounds; so it is somewhat of a college town or a running-jogging mecca! They also were the first neighborhood in Portland to be completely organic pesticide free, at least that what they are striving for! Like the neighborhoods surrounding it, Overlook is home to some of the best restaurants, bars, and hotspots in Portland. The two best places to stroll are Interstate Ave. and Killingsworth St. We highly recommend taking a walking or bike tour of the area to see what hidden gems pop out at you.
Getting Around: Located in the popular Overlook, North Portland neighborhood. Close by to grocery stores, coffee shops and local restaurants & amenities, Mock’s Crest Park, and the MAX light rail station. Easy access to I-5 and the Airport. Closest MAX station is Rosa Parks MAX Station, & N Killingsworth St MAX Station. Once you get to the MAX station you can easily access the entire City of Portland. Minutes to downtown, Portland waterfront and Washington Park. Car is highly suggested but definitely not required. It is easy to take the MAX yellow line into downtown, you can bring your bike if you want to, so easy to commute to Portland. Or you can jump on Interstate and take it south down near Swan Island and get into downtown without taking the bogged down freeways! Or you could take Willamette Blvd to the St John’s Bridge and take Highway 30 into town. If you want to walk somewhere to get yummy food, buy some flowers, get a beer at a pub, or just find some cute shops to browse through, you can take the walking bridge over the freeway and get to Mississippi and all its restaurants, cafes and pubs, or head towards St Johns, Kenton or any of the other little business areas that are close by. Overlook Neighborhood feels secluded when you are in its protected little streets, but it has easy access to many new quaint eateries, it really isn’t far out at all!
Other Things to Note: Portland City Code requires that we keep a log with the Name, Address and Vehicle Information for ALL guests. This will be required before check in. If you are renting a vehicle, we will need the License Plate number or we will need to note alternate transportation (ie; air, train, bike) Please provide this information with your confirmed booking. We require that guests provide Full Name of ALL adult guests. This will be required before check in. Please provide this information with your confirmed booking. ~You may be required to provide a photo of your Drivers License or Government ID directly to the host. This is for the safety and security of both guests & property Owners, and will be requested at the discretion of Stay in My DIstrict. ~ No additional guests and visitors/guests that are not registered on the reservation booking are allowed to be on the property after 10pm. ~ Smoking anywhere on the property will result in forfeiture of your entire deposit plus can result in additional fees up to $500 for smoke removal. ~ Housekeeping is required and provided every 15 days for an additional charge on all stays over 15 nights. ~ Guests should acknowledge that there is potential for another guest below the home and even though floors have been soundproofed there is a potential for noise. NOTE** The bed is accessed by compact stairs and there is no railway on stairs or open loft. This space may not be the suitable for small children or for persons with physical limitations.
Interaction with Guests: Guests have access to the entire tiny suite with private entrance. We are a local Mgmt Company, and we manage for the Owners. There is a full time tenant living in the main house but they should not be disturbed. We are available via booking platform, phone or text, or in person if needed.

Great place to stay
We rented this so we could visit our son’s family. We wanted just somewhere to rest our heads in the evenings and to eat breakfast. This was lovely had everything we needed. We are both over 60 and have no issues with steps. So the steps to the loft were not an issue. The place was clean.The owner was responsive with our questions. Convenient to the Max.

Lovely little place with a loft
Air conditioning was awesome. Fun to watch TV from the loft. Lots of parking, easy to drive downtown. Nice area to walk around.
