"Our room was great - good size and very clean. We had a fabulous view from our balcony across to the port of Amalfi. Breakfast was on the first floor balcony which also had a great view over the beach and port. Breakfast was not a buffet as we have been used to so options were limited but the coffee and staff were great! The location of the hotel was so central to everything in Amalfi town - the cathedral, restaurants, the bus and ferry stations. Highly recommend Hotel Residence in Amalfi. "

"This place is incredible! An amazing cliffside setting with direct access to the emerald water of the Mediterranean. However, because of its setting, there are a lot of stairs (not for those who are out of shape). There are 165 steps down to the accommodation from the main road (staff helped with luggage) and another 300 steps down to the water. "Had the best experience since even before we got to the hotel. Staff was very accommodating to getting us picked up and brought to hotel, transportation to Positano was so smooth and a breeze.
