"The older woman host has no customer service skills at all and just comes across as rude. Location alone should deter anyone from ever staying here, truly worst than SF by far. Dirty uncomfortable blanket with stains on it as well."

"The parking can be a little tough but the staff, grounds and room more than make up for it. When you do find parking it is an easy walk to the zoo that is the Del Coronado (a lot of fun and historic but extremely expensive), and to many restaurants. They don’t have a pool but arrangements can be made. They serve a complimentary breakfast with mimosas if you’d like and an afternoon wine and cheese treat. All in all we will be back!"

"I stayed here while trying to save my company money while attending a conference. The room was a single room with a king bed and a shower, desk, mini fridge, and place for clothes. If you are looking for a glamorous hotel with lots of amenities this is not the place for you, but if you plan on being in the room only really for sleeping, then this place is perfect and cheap compared to other places in the Gaslamp Quarter."

"We visited on July 19th, and stayed in room 1684. The view was excellent. The Westgate Hotel is centrally located, and was within walking distance to the Gaslamp district which was great. Underground parking with an excellent valet staff who were both very friendly and helpful. The main lobby was very nice and the third floor rooftop pool was excellent. "We had a nice view of the ocean from our balcony. The staff who cleaned were wonderful most staff were very kind and greeted us in yhe halls. The issue we had was the air-conditioning was not working and nothing was done. The room was so humid I could not get my hair or makeup right for the wedding we were there to attend. A staff at the front desk said to open the sliding glass door to let the night cool breeze in the problem is there is no screens and bugs can get in the room and the balcony...

"The Hotel itself wasn't too bad. The valet was very slow 45 minute wait for our vehicle to arrive even though they said 15 minutes. The homeless and drug activity next to the hotel was awful. We Didn't feel safe in the area. The closest grocery store had many armed guards for an obvious reasons. The hotel isn't responsible but has a big problem to deal with. The hotel plumbing wasn't strong although it worked. Needless to say we won't be back."
