Ideally situated comfortable

We had booked 4 nights at Peppers with our 3 month old daughter. We called ahead to confirm the portacot for the room and was told it would be there on arrival. After checking in, we walked to our room to find heavy construction next door and above our room. Inside the room, the dishwasher was running with nothing in it, no portacot and a cherry picker looking directly into our bedroom. We rang reception to bring the portacot so our daughter could have her nap, however this took close to an hour while we waited. We looked through our room further to find the small tv in the lounge room was broken, we notified staff however this was not tended too during our entire stay. Our morning’s commenced with tradies out the front of our bedroom at 7:00am discussing the day, starting the cherry picker and waking our daughter. The day consisted of scaffolding being built, masonry drill bits being drilled above our room and no privacy. When flagged with staff on our concerns over the room, we were offered a free breakfast and told they were sorry. This could have been avoided at the beginning by notifying guests of the construction, seeing we had booked for an infant and maybe thinking our situation wouldn’t fit for the current works. The staff had no forward thinking, no personal skills and no empathy for our family or what it’s like to have children. We have stayed at this hotel for over 15 years but will never go back.
