  • Welcome to our waterfront cottage, The Mermaid of Lorain, one of the Pelee Island’s Finest Homes, a two-story building on the very finest sand swim beach in a Cul-De-Sac! It has 3 bedrooms with Queen’s size beds in each room plus 1 pull out bed, which can accommodate up to 8 people. One bedroom (The Cleodora) is located on the main floor while the other 2 (The Nixie and The Ocarina)are located on the second floor. All the rooms and the living room have full lake views.
    The flooring is made of carpet over wood, ceramic and laminate. It has a full kitchen with a stove, a microwave, oven, a refrigerator, dishes, glasses, utensils, and a dishwasher. We have a washer and a dryer for the clothes. It has 2 full baths, one on each floor. Bed linens, towels, and cleaning supplies are provided.
    The finely decorated white wooden stair railings plus carpets on the stairs to the second floor are added safety features for the children and the elderly.
    You'll also find an assortment of coffee makers, dining table, breakfast table and an outdoor gas BBQ grill. There is a large back deck for outdoor sitting. Fine decorated, bright and naturally lit interior features many artworks. The Mermaid of Lorain, Pelee Island’s Finest cottage is a relaxing and peaceful home. It has indoor entertainment with high speed satellite internet, satellite TV, VCR, CD/DVD player, a large collection of CDs and DVDs, a radio, books, and games for all age groups. There is a Playpen for younger children. Heating Base Boards, Fans, and Window Air Conditioners are available. There are plenty of beach chairs and a picnic table. Pelee Island's finest sand swim beach is at your front door. Lake Erie is quite shallow near our beach.

Excellent beach front location, amazing caretaker, fully euiped and comfortable space and cooperative owner. We had a great time!Note: Since it was in the house rules, we had to spend several valuable hours of our stay to do the bedsheet & towels laundry and clean the house before leaving the place!

Great Little Cottage

Great little place right on a sandy beach! We were there for the pelee half and made a vacation out of it by staying an extra few days. Very worth it!

Pelee Island - Mermaid on Lorain

Another great Trip to Pelee Island at Mermaid on Lorain. This is our third stay and it was amazing. The place was spotless when we arrived for check in. The location on the Island is amazing with some of the best sandy beach front on the Island. The house is very nice and had a lot of the essentials. We look forward to going back next year!

Great option on Pelee!

We are life-long Pelee people who just needed some extra space as a bunch of family came in at the same time. This cottage is on some of the best beach area of the island and had all we that was needed to accommodate our family (of 5) and my brother's family (of 4).

Pelee Island - Mermaid on Lorain

I have been going to Pelee Island since the 80's and this is the second stay at Mermaid on Lorain. The location on the Island is amazing with some of the best sandy beach front on the Island. The house is very nice and had a lot of the essentials. We look forward to going back next year!

Beautiful spot

Only issue was owners showed up at beginning of our stay stated they didn’t know we were booked and needed to do pictures to sell the house we had to wait outside for hour until owners were completed.

Beautiful location, looks just like the photo!

The house is very spacious and cozy and has everything you might need. The view of Lake Erie is amazing, we felt like we were at the ocean. It was like having our own private beach, we only saw a couple of people walk by during our entire stay. The sunrises and sunsets on this island are amazing! We plan to visit again.

This house was amazing. Comes with all of the essentials. Just bring your clothes and food. The property manager is very nice and easy to communicate with. Overall a great experience. Will stay again

Terrible, filthy, full of dead mosquitoes, bugs, and ants. Could not sleep in the beds as the comforter and pillows were full of dead and alive bugs
