  • This is a fantastic condo located on the north end of Bridgewater in the gated community of Litchfield By the Sea. It is an updated, oceanfront condo that boasts one bedroom with 1 King sized bed and 1 Double Murphy bed. It features new flat screen TVs, a new table and cabinet under the TV, an updated kitchen with granite counter tops, comfortable furnishings and new appliances, and a new HVAC installed in January 2025.

    The indoor pool, locker rooms and outdoor pool deck were completely redone in 2024. Do not miss the opportunity to book this great unit!

    Litchfield is located just a 70 mile drive for a historic day trip to Charleston, SC or a 25 mile drive to the attractions of Myrtle Beach. Litchfield by the Sea offers private beach access and beach clubhouse, fishing/crabbing piers, miles of walking trails, lighted tennis courts, pickleball courts and more!

    This unit does not have a dishwasher in the unit and washer/dryer services are located within the Bridgewater Building on the 2nd floor.

    Condo is located on the 1st floor above the parking garage.

    This property has a Keurig.

    No smoking.

The room was great and the hot tub and pool were both needed because it was colder outside than we expected. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back again.

Beautiful Beach

This was the perfect place to stay. It’s got an ocean front view to one of the best beaches on the east coast. Been coming to this area for 20 years and will definitely return.

Just what we needed!

This is our second time at Bridgewater and we will be back! Love the entire property. The beach is close and the lazy river is relaxing. We loved walking and especially riding our bikes. All the trails were paved or cemented. Traffic was bearable and biker friendly. A fantastic vacation!

Food under refrigerator, food on floor by couch, cockroach on floor, trash underneath couch and dresser in den. Sand all over balcony, and furniture. Glass was dirty with smudges and handprints. The main bed mattress needs to be replaced as it was lumpy and not level. Shower did not drain well.

Same location, new property manager

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Have been staying at Bridgewater since 2010. First time booking with Tidewater. Easiest and most efficient reservation and check-in process ever. Very responsive to communication. Airline caused a 24 hour delay in arrival. Staff very courteous and accommodating. Check-out even easier. Will definitely check here first before booking next trip to the area.

Great vacation but getting too crowded

We have been coming to Litchfield for 8 years and this year was unfortunately overcrowded. There were tents and umbrellas lining the beach with no room to walk, play, etc. We have never had to deal with drinking adults, screaming kids in the pool, etc. The room was beautiful but the overall property has changed so much in the past year.

Minor issues

This will be our 11th year staying at Bridgewater but our first year booking through VRBO. This unit overall is nice. Has most of what we needed but we did have a few issues. Upon arrival, the bed was half made, my son went to use the restroom and immediately stepped on a small piece of glass that cut his foot. Luckily it was not bad enough to seek care. I’m not sure who the cleaning crew is but they did a subpar job. When making the Murphy bed, the blanket provided had red stains on them. I don’t want to think what the stains are unfortunately. The floors had dirt and grime on them and there were several bugs. Make sure you bring your own large trashcan because the one in the unit is super small so you will have to empty it multiple times a day. Extra trash bags are also not included so go ahead and pick up an extra box for those as well. I would also like to note that this unit advertises accommodating four people however there are only two chairs at the dining table. That was a little frustrating as it would’ve been nice to have been able to have all four of us sit at the table to enjoy dinner. Since we checked in on a Saturday, we were not allowed to reach out to anybody unless it was an absolute emergency until Monday. You will be charged for non-emergent after hours calls. The filters in the AC unit were disgusting and anyone with allergies will definitely have an issue. I will say that when I called to report the AC filters being dirty, someone came very quickly. If you are the type that likes to work out on vacation, just go ahead and book through Litchfield as you will not have access to the resorts gym. It wasn’t a dealbreaker for us though. As noted in the other reviews, the sliding back door does not lock. Storage in the bathrooms would be great as there currently is none. A few extra pots and pans for cooking would be nice as well. Oh and the lock for the room itself does not automatically lock like others so you must make sure it’s locked when you are coming and going. There are some fun games provided that we had fun playing which was nice when it rained. Overall, we are happy with our stay and hope that it this is taken as constructive criticism.

Going to Pawleys Island for the last 35 years and this was a great week! We loved the location right on the beach! We enjoyed the pool and property was gorgeous! We will definitely be renting Rachel’s Retreat ag!

Great location and experience

The property was just as described. Plenty of room for our family and very clean. Only recommendation would be to add pots and pans. Only one of each made it difficult to cook. Other than that it was great!

What a sweet story

Rachael’s Retreat is great for 2. When we read the story of how Rachael’s Retreat came to be due to a sick child and all the wonderful medical folks the family came in contact with and they want to give back. This means when staying there you are helping that special family provide needed breaks these incredible folks that care for our children at a time they need help the most. It. Brought a tear to my eye as we fully understand how precious these medical folks as we needed a Childrens Hospital for a tough situation. TOTALLY A GOD THING that we booked there so thankful we did!!
