Disappointed
Our stay here was fine until I decided to make the mgmtnt aware that there was mold on the ceiling in the main bathroom and cracks on the shower floor. The woman asked if she could send someone over. I told her that I would let her know when we returned to the condo because we didn’t want anyone there without us there. Well, when we returned, hoping to get some reprieve from the heat there were maintenance people there. The chemical smells of epoxy glue and paint were so strong that it took my breath away. We opened all the windows and couldn’t go inside for some time. They painted over the mold and painted our shower FLOOR as well so we couldn’t use our shower. I developed a headache from the fumes but I’m mostly thankful that my child’s asthma wasn’t triggered. Why in the world would anyone think it would be a good idea to take this action while the condo is in use is beyond me. This could have easily been done after we checked out. There was no urgency as I’m sure the mold has been there for some time. I called Emerald Beach Rentals to ask why our request was disregarded and the problem with the strong fumes. I was told that my concern would be addressed and I would hear back from someone. Well, I haven’t. Internet was down more than up. Mgmt suggested we use the router in the unit above us. TVs had to be reprogrammed to work. I hate that this situation left a sour taste but I will not be dealing with Emerald Beach Rentals in the future.
