  • A charming whimsical retreat in the High Valley community of Packwood, WA. - this retreat is close to Mount Rainier providing countless hiking opportunities; nearly out of the back door! Cowlitz River access is just across the road and a small walking distance away. There are many dvd movies to watch, CDs for listening & books to read. Build a campfire, look at the stars, read a book, or just enjoy the elk walking by. The house sleeps 2 (Queen bed), 1 on a sofa (if you wish but it is not a hide-a-bed). I love decorating so every room has special touches to make it homey and comfortable. If you are looking for sterile plain surroundings this is not the place for you. It has been decorated as my very own home and it is comfortable warm and inviting! I love Packwood and I love the mountains! Use of the seasonal community country club - pool swimming and golf are available upon request (time allowing for permission slips).

The cabin had everything we needed for a holiday stay and to make a holiday meal. It's a great location to get to the mountain. It's a good size for two. The hot tub was wonderful at the end of the day.

A very quiet and homey location right next to the river. Very clean interior and already had toys ready for the dogs. A great listing for a couple to get away into the mountains.

We had a wonderful stay. Check in was easy and cabin was fully stocked with whatever you’d need. We got in late and left early. But had we stayed longer, the outdoor deck seemed perfect for hanging out. Would not hesitate to stay again!

Despite the other houses around us, this was a quiet, sweet, little home with absolutely anything you might need tucked away. We really enjoyed it and only wished we had more time there.

This place is so cute and clean. Important things to me are clean, big coffee pot, water pressure, adequate dishes, comfy bed, and an easy to work remote. Everything was great. It was a quick drive to the Mount Rainier Stevens Canyon entrance. The host was super responsive.

Great location, has everything you need!

This was the most well-stocked VRBO I’ve stayed at! Anything you needed was available. It’s located in a great spot to access both Paradise & Sunrise in Mt. Rainier. Very quiet neighborhood!

Return Visit…

Loooove staying at Shannon’s! Incredibly comfortable bed and furniture, extremely practical and thought out, very playfully decorated , and creative, fun outdoor space to enjoy all the birds, butterflies, hummingbirds that spend time in the yard. So nice to have a quiet spot to return to and would go daily to the river access spot just a couple houses down.

Perfect!

The place was very clean, in a beautiful, quiet location. We were extremely comfortable and had everything we needed. The house, the deck and the yard were all perfect hangout spots. The hummingbirds were not thrilled to see us but we very much enjoyed seeing them.

This property was an F - FABULOUS! Truly, heaven on earth. Not only was it a peaceful retreat, but had everything we needed. The owner was very communicative, the place was spotless and we relished all her delightful decorations. This adorable place surpassed our expectations. Don’t stay anywhere else.

Wonderful stay

We had a great time, thanks for sharing your home with us. It was lovely to sit out on the deck, and look out at the mountain behind the house. The yard was nice and private. The house had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. Thanks again. Now we know where to stay when planning another hiking trip in the Packwood area.

New Year's 2023

Great little spot! Perfect for our little pack. We had friends staying at other rentals in the area but ours was perfect for us to ring in the new year together. My husband is a great chef & managed to create a 4 course dinner for 6 people. Nicely pointed kitchen, & just enough space to have cocktails & play some charades. Only bummer is that there wasn't a fire pit but other than that, GREAT STAY & highly recommend!

Very quaint and peaceful

This was the second time we stayed here and we love how peaceful it is. Only issue we had was the checkin instruction included the wrong code yo access the keys. We didn't have good reception and it was hard to get in touch with someone. But we were finally able to reach the owner Shannon and she gave us the correct code to access the key. Kinda stressful after a long drive. Otherwise all was great.

1bdrm stairway to hesven

Everything about this property was perfect. Tucked away in the woods, yet a 10min drive from the downtown packwood area, this property was a great location. Also a good proximity for hiking mt. Rainier at around 75mn drive from paradise or sunrise visitor centers. The place itself was incredibly comfortable, clean and well setup with a large (and well stocked!) kitchen and living room. Both the bed and couch were so comfortable. The patio was prime for watching the sunset as well. All in all a very well thought out property by the owner that made staying there something special.
