The house features freeview flatscreen TV, good cell phone coverage and has recently been renovated. On cooler days turn on the heat pump or light the woodburner. If you want a day at home to relax then get out the cards, games or play pool or darts in the Garage Games Room.
The small township of Owaka is 2km away, and includes a Four Square supermarket, garage, pub, Cafe and Restaurant along with a gift shop and in summer months also a Pizza and takeaway place.
The town also features a very good museum and information Centre, and have your photo taken with our wonderful Waka Sculpture.
Jacks Bay and the worthwhile Blowhole walk are 10 mins away.
There are many other walks in the area of varying distances. Your hosts can offer advice on these.
Nugget Point lighthouse is 30 minutes drive away and The Point Cafe and Bar in Kaka Point offers an opportunity to have coffee or dine out.
Half an hour South is the beach settlement of Papatowai, and The Lost Gypsy Bus, and if you travel a bit further South you can visit Cathedral caves or Maclean Falls and then a coffee, drink or meal at The Whistling Frog.
Your hosts live next door and are readily available to offer advice on things to do to make your stay more memorable.
