The Norton House sits right on the Lake with a breathtaking view of the Big Niangua arm and features wood floors and a newly renovated kitchen with granite countertops, flat screen televisions and free wi-fi. There are 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths plus two additional queen roll-out sofas. All 3 bedrooms have queen beds.

Enjoy the lakeside picnic grounds and kayaking, relax on the patio and watch the boating activity, grill your supper or eat out, then let the sound of nature lull you to sleep at night.

The kitchen is well equipped with fridge, range, microwave, dishwasher and side bar for your favorite beverages. Enjoy dinners inside in the dining area or outside on the patio so you don't miss the beautiful weather and wildlife! Or, there are several restaurants nearby from casual to fine dining. There is also a big green egg and and offset smoker grill if you like to BBQ. There is a nice, private firepit just outside the front door for your enjoyment.

The Norton House is located west of Camdenton right where the Big Niangua tributary changes from a river to the Lake of the Ozarks. You'll be 'lured' to the Lake where the fishing is amazing for catfish, bass, crappie and walleye. Or play golf at either of two courses, Lake Valley Country club or Old Kinderhook (a Tom Weiskoph signature course).

One of the best features of this property and its sister rental, The Chardonel House, is the easy access to the Lake of the Ozarks. The lakeside picnic grounds is a short walk down the hill from the house or you can drive down the concrete driveway to the park.

About a hundred yards up the driveway from the house is an open-aired pavilion clubhouse with games to enjoy or just sit and take in the lake view.

You have free access to 4 kayaks, singles or doubles, for the length of your stay (a $100.00 value) and can pack a nice picnic lunch and your favorite beverages to enjoy while leisurely paddling the Niangua! Please note that in early spring the Lake water level is drawn down about 5 feet to make ready for the spring rains but you can still launch the kayaks from our dock in the shallower water.

No matter what your perception of a perfect vacation is, you won't be disappointed with the relaxation and serene feeling you will have when you leave this refreshing property!

What a property! There is so much land to do things. Had a couple of memorable mornings on the paddle board/kayak and some relaxing campfires at night complete with star-gazing and fireflies. Barb was a wonderful host and the house was lovely, especially the full kitchen and back deck overlooking the lake. I can't say enough about this meticulously kept property. Thank you Barb! We made some marvelous memories.

Family vacation

We took our adult children and our two dogs (with approval) for a week long vacation. The house is very clean and the perfect size for 6 adults. The back deck has a beautiful view of the lake. We loved the outdoor furniture and want some for our house now! We all enjoyed the lake with access to canoe, paddle boards, and kayaking. The grounds are well kept and looked like a private park with access to picnic tables and disc golf. We rented a boat for a few days from Lake Runners Boat Rental. They delivered the boat right to the house dock and were very easy to work with. The clubhouse is a fun asset and we enjoyed playing games when it cooled off. We loved having the grill and cooked most of our meals at the house. We did get carry out from Tavern Smokehouse and Pappos. Would recommend both of those places, the food was delicious. We also ate in at Wicked Willies and the food was also phenomenal. My husband and I snuck away one afternoon to visit Riverbird winery. Beautiful view and great wine. It was a perfect way to end our summer and send the kids back off to college.

It was very clean and had plenty room. They had kayaks, life jackets, paddles, and place for fishing. Clubhouse for games and it came in handy for rainy days. I would recommend it and stay again!

The house was very clean. Easy to get to. Good communication with the owners regarding check in and out. Nice view of the lake. Plenty of outdoor seating. Kayake area could have used a good mowing and would have liked more then two kitchen towels. Minor items. We had a great vacation and loved that our family dog could join us.

Gorgeous, peaceful location!!

We had a wonderful time at the Norton House!! We saw so much wildlife, we enjoyed taking the kayaks out and seeing the cave, we loved sitting out and relaxing on the back porch overhanging the lake and relaxing down by the water as well. My husband was happy as he got to finish 3 books while we were there, I got all my kayaking in, and our kids got to enjoy swimming and playing board games. The home is beautifully decorated in cabin style!! Barb and Ward were extremely responsive to any questions we had as well. We really look forward to and fully plan to come back here to stay again!!

Great property. Kitchen was good to prepare meals for our group of 7. We really enjoyed the "quieter" end of the lake. The kayaks and paddleboards were so fun for all of us. The dock was adequate for our 2 day boat rental. We loved the firepit and chairs by the lake too!

Excellent property with fully stocked kitchen and good fun with various games at the pavilion (a short uphill walk from Norton house). Good proximity to HaHa Tonka State Park and not too far from other restaurants & attractions.The property is located on hill coming down towards the lake. So the pavilion is at highest point, then another house midway down followed by Norton house, and then finally the kayaks & dock at lowest point at lake level (another walk from house). Launching kayak from ground level into water was more difficult... we found it easier using the dock, even if that means carrying the kayak to that point. Backside of Norton house has small balcony facing the lake, which would be more enjoyable as a larger deck with more capacity. Overall good experience for all family members young and old.

Spring Hunting Trip 2025

A couple of friends and I came down to do some turkey hunting in the area and decided to stay here. We were more than impressed at how beautiful the house was. Very spacious and well decorated. Each bedroom had its own bathroom and the kitchen and dining room were also immaculate. The view was incredible and all of the amenities were great. The owners were friendly, accommodating and very responsive with every question or update. I highly recommend this location!

Ideal Place for Our Family

What a wonderful place for our family of five – two kids (ages 10 and 12) and our 3-month-old puppy! The property was incredibly clean, comfortable, and had every amenity we could have possibly needed – and then some. We had a blast using the kayaks, paddle boat, and fishing off the dock. The rec room was a great option for a fun, rainy evening. Plus, we were super close to grocery stores, restaurants, and a park when we ventured out for some outdoor fun. Highly recommend this gem for a family getaway!

Awesome place

First glance you see a cute, well maintained cabin. It just gets better. Plenty of room, great views and comfortable beds. Fire pits, picnic tables canoes/kayaks available. The Norton House offers some seclusion as well . We loved it and plan to return.

Great property

Met up with our adult kids for the weekend at the Norton House. Perfect place for things to do inside or out--March in Missouri! We had the best time hiking and using the clubhouse. What a wonderful little place!

WONDERFUL

Property and house were beautiful. The views were perfect. Everything we wanted and needed for a relaxing getaway. Proper managers were easy to reach and super helpful. This was our 2nd year staying on the property and will absolutely be back.

Annual Family Reunion

We were looking for a house on the lake with rooms (with bathrooms) for 3 couples. This house filled the bill with the added bonus of a fire pit where we ended up spending most of our time. Overall it was a great place to stay. The bedrooms were somewhat poorly lit, the living room needs a couple more comfortable chairs, and the south and east windows could use some blinds, but, other than that, the accommodations were pretty wonderful. We may be back.

Norton house was a great place to stay. Very roomy, clean and cozy.

We enjoyed ping pong in the game room. We fished off the dock down the hill, and enjoyed kayaking. Very nice vacation.

Great House

This house was much better than stated in the VRBO website and pictures. The lake view from the deck is the greatest! The property furnishings inside and outside were very comfortable. The rocking chairs on the deck were great for comfort and enjoying the surroundings. Would definitely go back again and recommend it to friends. .
