This was a beautiful property surrounded by woods. The beach was lovely to walk and we enjoyed finding sea glass. We also enjoyed using the kayaks that were available. We did think the price was a little high compared to other beautiful lakeside homes that we've stayed at in the past. As mentioned in a different review, the 1500 deposit is a little steep and it is not refunded for 2 weeks after you've checked out. But it is still a great place to stay and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

We had an outstanding stay in this lovely, comfortable lakefront home. The home was very clean, the kitchen was fully equipped and with beautiful appliances! Bathrooms were clean and updated. Beds were very comfortable. The lakefront setting was awesome. It’s a truly magical feeling sitting next to a bonfire on the shores of Lake Superior. We highly recommend this property!M. Manzi

Beautiful home right on beautiful lake Superior. Perfect location to explore the porcupine mountains. House had EVERYTHING we needed to make some great memories and Christle was a great host. We will definetly be back one day soon.

Great place to stay. Loved being able to walk on the beach and see Lake Superior’s waves crashing in while sitting at the kitchen table. Our host was very attentive to us and gave us instructions ahead of the check-in date. The rental was spotless. We hope to come next year and we will pray that the weather will be better so we can use the facility to its full potential. Thank you for sharing your blessing!

We had a great week here as a family of four. The place was spotless and ready for us to settle right in. The lighted path to the water was pure magic. And our kiddos loved the swing set in between beach adventures. There was no shortage of inspirational signs to remind us we were living our best “life at the lake.” All in all, it was a cozy and comfortable home base for our South Shore adventures.

Beautiful Place To Vacation

We had a wonderful time at the UP Happy Place! What a beautiful home, complete with everything you would need, even a Keurig! Comfortable beds, internet and smart TV access, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, on and on I could go! Chad and Christel are excellent hosts and always ready to answer questions. Being right on Lake Superior was the icing on the cake. Easy check in and check out, it was just a beautiful stay from start to finish and we are looking forward to another vacation here when the fall colors are on.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely lake house! It was the perfect spot for our family to reconnect and relax. We especially enjoyed kayaking on Lake Superior and took full advantage of the well-stocked kitchen for cooking meals together. The cozy and spacious layout made it ideal for late-night board games and quality family time. Thank you for providing such a welcoming and comfortable home — we truly had a memorable experience!

Perfect location for enjoying the UP whether you want to hike the Porkies, visit nearby waterfalls, explore Ontonagon and surrounding communities, or simply relax at the home. We especially enjoyed the back deck overlooking the path to the beach. The host had anticipated all our needs and quickly responded to questions. The tiled walk-in showers and high quality appliances gave the home a luxurious feel. We would enjoy staying here again and recommend it without hesitation.

Beautiful Home & Property - Amazing Stay!

This property was incredible! We had such a great stay and enjoyed our week immensely. The black flies and mosquitos were terrible, but we didn't let them ruin our time. The beach is beautiful - we were able to enjoy sunset from kayaks on the lake! The location of this property is perfect to enjoy everything in both the Porcupine Mountains and the Keweenaw Peninsula. The home itself is clean and well kept - the kitchen was well stocked and the bedroom layout was great for our multi-generational family.

UP Snowmobile Trip

We had 4 guys staying here for our UP snowmobile trip. The house is fantastic! It was very clean and well stocked so no looking for paper towels or trash bags etc........It was a very comfortable place to come back to after some long days riding. We will definitely be booking this rental again in the future.

Fall in the UP

Our group of 5 seniors had a great 5 night stay. Some of us have stayed in many vacation rentals (including 2 others on this very road) and we all agreed that this was by far the best equipped property ever. It was so nice to have basic cooking ingredients stocked in the kitchen with plenty of utensils, cookware and drinkware-even a martini shaker! It was clean and in a beautiful setting with many lovely touches. The lighted path to the beach, fire pit, and cool corncrib gazebo was magical. The property was easy to find and is very close to the state park and other beautiful drives. The house is big enough for three couples to share if two people don’t mind twin beds. The two fairly minor negatives (one of the twin beds had a protective bed covering on it with no mattress cover over it, making it an uncomfortable sleep for an adult, and the coffeemaker was very clogged up with what appeared to be sand ? and so was very slow-a problem for 5 coffee drinkers!) were communicated to the owner and she responded quickly. While these problems were not corrected during our stay, it sounds like they may be addressed in the future. Other than those two things, it was exactly as advertised and we appreciated the use of the property. It is easy to see why it has the name it does. It became our happy place for a brief time. Perfection!

From the moment we pulled into the driveway we loved the house. The property is beautiful. So many special touches to the home. We really enjoyed the fireplaces, flameless candles, comfy bed and huge shower. The deck is very inviting however we spent most of our time at the private beach. It was hard to leave during the day to go to the Porkies, waterfalls and other local things we came to see. Make sure to plan a couple days of your trip to just enjoy the property. We both miss the beach and can't wait to come back.
