  • Escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the lovely, yet kid friendly, sanctuary of Casa Guiqueno. Perfect home base to see all of northern New Mexico and equipped with a level 2 EV charger station. Enjoy renowned whitewater rafting or a hike in the nearby Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, Carson National Forest, or Santa Fe National Forest or soak in nearby hot springs of Ojo Caliente. Perhaps just relax after a day of wine tasting in the local wineries and enjoy the fabulous vistas. The home is only 40 minutes from downtown Santa Fe, Taos, and Los Alamos. It is centrally located to ski areas of Sipapu, Pajarito, Santa Fe, and Taos as well and extremely close to rafting venues or the Opera, numerous Galleries, petroglyphs, and cultural activities. Go fly fishing up the Chama River or Rio Grande or rafting which is only minutes away. After soak your body in the home’s oversized clawfoot tub then sip wine while you soak in the fabulous vistas from this home. Create those memorable times away from home in this home. The home has two feet thick adobe walls with a viga, split cedar and pine latilla ceiling, with smooth plastered walls and a portal (veranda) overlooking the Rio Grande Valley and Sangre de Cristos to the east. This place is just what you imagined for Santa Fe adobe architecture with a modern touch, an amazing kitchen, beautiful bathrooms, but with a uniqueness all its own. A large basalt retaining wall with wrought iron gates provides privacy during your stay. Get the Santa Fe experience without all those high costs. Quick policy points to note: no events, no pets, no smoking on the premises, & number of guests on the reservation must match visiting the home.

Great home base

An absolutely beautiful house to stay in. We used this as a home base over several days in order to check out Santa Fe and Taos. It took about an hour to get to both from the house. There was plenty of room for 4 adults.

Enjoyable Location

Being close to Taos, Santa Fe and Abiquiu were pluses. The area is very quiet and peaceful: the house well appointed.

Beautiful, well appointed house and just what we were looking for. Fantastic, classic New Mexico view from the front porch. Quiet neighborhood. Convenient to Santa Fe, Abiqui, and El Rito for dinner. Definitely recomnend ut and we will probably return

This property was very quiet so it was restful between our activities. It was a great location as it was conveniently located half way between Taos and Santa Fe. It made traveling to both of these places very easy!

Beautiful and tranquil spot

We had a lovely time at this spot-- the setting was beautiful, and the home clean, comfortable, and safe. We used it as a home base to visit Santa Fe, the O'Keeffe homestead and Ghost Ranch, and multiple nearby hiking trails. It was a perfect setting and so relaxing. Highly recommend.

Gem in the rough

Beautiful, comfortable accommodations. Owner was very friendly and gave good suggestions for touring and dining. Lovely adobe home. Within an hour of both Taos and Santa Fe. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Good dark sky location.

We enjoyed our visit to this area tremendously. This property is in a great central location. The house was everything and more than we expected. Perfect Home Base

We couldn't decide if we wanted to stay in Taos or Santa Fe, and this was the perfect compromise! The home is STUNNING, spotless and well-appointed. The location is quiet and rural. The owner communicated with me quickly when the directions took us to the wrong address, and he was kind and so helpful.

A special and lovely home

Staying at Casa El Guiqueno was delightful and restorative. The house is beautifully appointed with a chef's kitchen, relaxing and elegant living and dining spaces, comfortable bedrooms, lovely and unique bathrooms, and a porch which invites rest and relaxation as one looks out on a verdant valley. Greg was a wonderful host.

Everything was wonderful. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen spacious, the bathrooms had all the luxury comforts you could want and everything was clean and ready to use. The only thing I’d have added was a second, more comfortable couch.

Nice, comfortable

The property is a bit away from town and the location worked well for the hiking exploration and daytrips we made based from the rental. The house is very interesting and has a cool adobe vibe. The view east of the house is a small farm that adds nice ambience.

Adobe Home

This home is a beautiful blend of adobe and wood. It's in a quiet area with no traffic and a great view when sitting outdoors and we were lucky enough for a full moon. It is centrally located for day trips to many areas. I don't cook on vacation but--wow--what a kitchen if you do. Communication was great and check-in check-out were both quick and easy.
