Rustic 1960's Oceanfront Cottage With Modern Updates


This charming 1960's Cottage is a 4 bedroom / 2 bathroom single story home. The Oceanfront location has approximately 1200 square feet, renovated bathrooms with tile showers while the home maintains the original 1960's charm with Hardwood Floors in the bedrooms and Vaulted Beam ceilings throughout the home. The kitchen is mostly original, handmade cabinets, so no Granite or Marble Counter tops, but fully functional. The beds were fitted throughout with QUALITY Mattresses, so you will wake up feeling refreshed and ready for a day of fun.

Housekeeping/cleaning fee for all rentals is $150.00 Cancellation insurance available through VRBO. Damage Protection Insurance of $89 may be purchased through VRBO in lieu of $400 refundable deposit
Linen Charge of $125/stay is required during peak season and automatically included for all rentals.

In peak season from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the Changeover date is Saturday, booked by the week.
As we use the home frequently ourselves, we occasionally make minor updates to the furnishings and decor, so check back regularly for updates.

We do not allow animals of any kind, as an accommodation to several allergen sensitive repeat guests.

My family had an amazing time here. Everything was clean and comfortable, felt very homey. You can't beat the location either, it's perfect. The kitchen was well stocked as well as plenty of beach equipment. I would absolutely stay here again and have already recommended to friend's.

Rustic older home with great view of the ocean. The cottage was neat and clean with fresh linen waiting for our arrival. We did find a leak from the dishwasher and informed the owner who tried to fix it. Although, it wasn't fixed during our stay, we didn't find this as a problem. When we plan another beach vacation on the east coast, we will definitely stay there again.

Our two week stay at this quaint cottage was peaceful & fantastic. It reminded me of beach cottages from the 60s & 70s. The accommodations were wonderful, & the beds were so comfortable. The owner, Pete, was attentive, available, & very personable. We will definitely be back next summer!

Just what we needed

The house was everything that we needed for our stay in Oak Island. The owner was very responsive by text and stopped by to try and fix the dishwasher which was broken. Would stay again!

A wonderful respite!

We have stayed at this property once before and really enjoyed being right in front of the ocean, so wanted the same experience. It did not disappoint. There were 7 of us from the age range of 18 to 80s. All of us enjoyed our time here equally. The house is rustic and could use a little TLC, but you can’t beat the proximity to the ocean, the covered balcony where we sat for hours watching the waves and wildlife, beautiful beach that is not crowded, the convenience of staying together in the same space with family, a bed for everyone, and so many other conveniences. I really appreciated the brand new green pans for cooking/heating up our meals as we tend to cook some of our meals. All in all, it was such a relaxing time of rest after a very busy year!! This house provided our family with all that we needed to have wonderful vacation. I was even able to see the milky way:)

Excellent stay at the Rustic Oceanfront Cottage!

This place is great. Right in the beach. Comfortable. Plenty of space/bess for a sanity or group. Owner was extremely responsive.No question about it - I would rent this place again.

The ocean view was beautiful! The house looks to be a cabin feel online. However it was dated paneling. It was okay but the cleanliness was lacking a lot. Checked out early

Perfect Place for Us

Absolutely loved this place. Perfect for our 4 Generations of family. From my 86 yr old mother to my 9 yr old Granddaughter. Loved the keyless entry. Hope we can rent it next Easter vacation.

This was a great little house right on the beach, which was perfect for the little kids. The layout of the house was great. There was plenty of room for our family of 12! Lots of games there for the kids...and adults to play.

Oceanfront!

The cottage is cozy and has great beach access! We had a small problem with one shower and the property owner was very prompt to get it fixed. We had several pack n plays for babies and were able to fit them in the bedrooms too! There were no stairs inside the cottage so nice for traveling with Littles. We were farther on the west end of the blvd, which put us farther from the main places in town, but still just a short drive. We would definitely stay again!

Great Week of Beach Fun

Incredible host!!! Great communication and willingness to satisfy his guest. This is our second stay with Pete and hopefully there will be many more in the years to come. Great peaceful location and the feel of a cottage--don't feel as if you can't touch anything or it might break--very cozy! I just can't express how much we enjoyed staying with Pete. God bless!
