Two covered decks plus a sun deck with lounge chairs, rockers and a picnic table. Two outdoor showers (one with hot and cold water). This vacation rental welcomes up to two dogs per reservation year-round.

High-speed internet, and 5 TV's (Cable TV in the living room with DVD/Blu-ray player. Four TV's with streaming capabilities in the bedrooms).

Dining seating for eight plus four bar stools. Refrigerator in kitchen. Washer and dryer access from the front porch. Ceiling fan in the living room, carpet throughout and HVAC. Games, puzzles and lots of books.

Afternoon Delight is convenient to local activities, shops, and restaurants, as well as the bridge leading to historic Southport and its numerous shops and historic points of interest. So whether your idea of a vacation is to taking long naps in the island breeze, exploring local landmarks, or teeing up for 18 holes at one of the area's playable but challenging golf courses, you will find your island home at Afternoon Delight!

Wonderful location, incredible views, perfect stay

Afternoon Delight provided a perfect getaway. The location was great - just far enough away to be the "quiet" area, not so far out as to be troublesome. The house is outfitted with everything you could need, from housewares to beach toys and chairs to deck furniture. Will definitely look to rent again.

Delightful Afternoons

Afternoon Delight delightfully delivered! The quaint beach cottage was absolutely clean and spacious. Kitchen was well stocked and living room super comfy with updated furniture and streaming TVs throughout. The second mini fridge was super helpful to cool our beverages and two coffee pots (regular brewer and Keurig) were an added bonus. Our group of 8 had plenty of space. We were 25 steps to the ocean at high tide. The ocean temps were warm and sand perfect. There were beach chairs, boogie boards, and sand toys provided. The home came with a clean pre-packaged linen bag at the foot of each bed which assured us of the cleanliness of the linens. The beds were super comfy, as we all slept well. Grocery stores and restaurants within 10 min drive and on Oak Island! We rented a gas grill from Mr. Beach Rentals for the week for convenience, as we are not patient enough for charcoal to heat. Also we rented bikes, but did not use them much. We would love to stay here again. Our boys were able to fish while we watched from the back deck. We were even able to witness a Sea Turtle hatching right in front of Afternoon Delight…and watched as 106 baby sea turtles made it safely to the ocean! This was an absolute fantastic stay and we will be back!

Delight-ful!

We would not hesitate to book this property again. The location ON the beach was perfect and the property was very clean. We did drive right by it the first time as the color or the exterior has changed - it's now a bright blue and looks very beachy and inviting!

Perfect for family vacation

Beach was beautiful….very private with lots of room to spread out. House is clean and sufficiently equipped for cooking/eating in. We all had a wonderful time!

Relaxing beach getaway

The property is exactly as described in the listing and photos. Nothing fancy but has all the basics covered including fully equipped kitchen, clean bedding and linens and great location right on the beach. The covered deck is ideal place to hang out and have coffee in the morning and relax with a drink in the evening after spending a day at the beach. We had some minor issues with a couple of doors sticking and bathtub leaking into the car port below; but overall well equipped. A great beach week for our family, including a 10 year old and a dog.

Low key beach haven

Good stay but needs some attention to linen service

Even with no heat for 1 night and comforters needed changing which was taking care of by Oak Island Accommodation the very next morning. Space heater for all rooms and clean linen for the beds . The heat was fixed that afternoon. Than we was able to enjoy our stay. Thanks Oak Island Accommodation.
