The Hermit was designed to help you disconnect while still enjoying essential comfort, all within an eco-conscious approach aimed at reducing our environmental footprint. This attention to detail has earned us eco-responsible certification from Les Pages Vertes, following a rigorous evaluation by an independent organization.



Electricity is intentionally limited, but you’ll still find everything you need: an auxiliary electric heater, a mini fridge, an espresso machine, and a two-burner electric cooktop.



*** Important New Feature ***

A modern sanitary building, accessible year-round, is now available for your use. It includes 2 full bathrooms (with showers and toilets) and is shared with the other two cottages on the site: The Pilgrim and The Enlightened.



This addition preserves the chalet’s rustic experience while offering an extra level of comfort, no matter the season.



In summer, you can still enjoy the outdoor shower, and for those seeking a fully immersive experience, the original facilities remain available for a complete return to basics.



🚨 Damage Protection – Peace of Mind Included 🚨

To offer you a seamless experience, accidental damage protection is included through a fixed nightly amount.



It replaces the traditional security deposit and covers eligible accidental damages up to USD $50,000 for qualifying stays.* Very few properties offer this level of protection.

Notre-Dame-des-Bois is located in the heart of the Mont-Mégantic International Dark Sky Reserve, which promises absolutely magical evenings around the fire under a sky bursting with a thousand stars 🤩

- Parc national du Mont-Mégantic: hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing

- Mont-Mégantic Observatory: stargazing

***** PLEASE NOTE *****

There is no bathroom inside the chalet. However, you’ll have access to a restroom facility located on the lot next to the cabin, which is open year-round and shared with the other two cabins on the property. It includes two full bathrooms (with showers and toilets) for your convenience. Please bring your own towels and biodegradable soap so you can enjoy it 🙂 An outdoor dry toilet remains available near the chalet for those who wish to enjoy the full rustic experience. The outdoor shower (available from May 15 to October 15) is also still accessible. There is a mini fridge, but no conventional stove. Cooking must be done using the wood stove, electric cooktop (2 burners), or outdoor fire pit. There are no built-in light fixtures, but rechargeable lanterns and candles are provided. The chalet features only one sleeping area on the mezzanine with 2 double beds (mattresses with hygienic covers): you must bring your own bedding.



All in all, a truly authentic rustic experience from another time!



Guest Access:

The chalet is entirely private for your use, while certain outdoor facilities (including the sanitary building, outdoor shower, and 2 EV chargers) are shared with the two other chalets on the property.



Other Things to Note:

The house guide as well as instructional messages will be sent to you after booking to simplify the arrival process as much as possible and allow you to properly plan the activities of your stay.
