Playing Hooky is the perfect setting to do just that! You will be amazed at the beauty this home has to offer with the incredible views from this channel house off the Cherry Grove marsh. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath raised home is on a deep water channel in Cherry Grove. Enjoy the floating dock, ramp, deck, patio, and dock access. On the first floor (not ground level) of Playing Hooky, there is an open living area, dining area, and kitchen that overlooks the marsh from the sliding door. Also on the first floor is the master bedroom and master bath. The master bedroom has a king bed and the master bath has a vanity, tub, and separate shower. The updated kitchen is fully equipped with granite countertops and all of your cooking needs to prepare a meal. There is a dining area and a breakfast bar. The living area has durable tile flooring, TV, and a queen sleeper sofa. There is also a washer/dryer, free WiFi, and free parking for 4 vehicles. On the second floor are the other two bedrooms and a bath. One bedroom has a queen bed. The other bedroom has 2 twin beds. The upstairs bathroom has a tub and shower combination.

If you love the sport of fishing, this rental has everything you could want. Fish from the deck or dock, which also has a fish cleaning station (if you want to eat your catch). You could relax on the dock all day while casting to see what you may hook on the end of that line. If you have a boat, bring it with you. Dock your boat and get ready for a fishing excursion or a relaxing day on the ocean. The marsh is an outstanding place to kayak. So if you enjoy that sport, there are 5 adult kayaks and 3 for kids with this rental for you to go and explore nature. Life jackets are supplied. Nature's beauty is amongst you. You will definitely enjoy the calm, quiet waters while catching that most perfect sunrise and unbelievable sunset from your own private dock. Cozy up with that special someone in a hammock, in a swing, in the NEW outdoor hot tub, by the firepit, and cook up your daily catch on the large outdoor grill. For those cornhole players, there is a cornhole board and bags for your use.

After a day in paradise, the fun does not end. When the sun goes down, there is plenty to do! If you want a great meal, you are at the right place! Known for our seafood, you will have to try one of fabulous restaurants. From fine dining to a quick meal, you will find it here. If you are looking for a dinner show, live entertainment, or a place to dance the night away, you have a variety to choose from. For the entire family, enjoy the amusement rides, numerous gift shops, and a round of putt-putt.

If you are looking for a little more intense golf there are several golf courses on the Grand Strand where you can call and set up a tee time. Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach, Alabama Theater, Pirates Voyage, and the Carolina Opry are just a few tourists' favorites located along the Grand Strand and just a short drive away from Playing Hooky. Everything that you could want for your vacation can be found in North Myrtle Beach.

Playing Hooky allows motorcycles, golf carts, and small pets. There is parking for 4 vehicles on the property. This is a non-smoking rental. No students/student groups allowed. The minimum age to rent is 25.

Departure clean and linens are included in the price of this rental.

This family rental property is located in a quiet, residential community. Groups or house parties are NOT allowed. Adherence to maximum occupancy, parking, trash and noise ordinances is required and strictly enforced. Any violation will result in eviction.

Peace & quiet with a fabulous view!

What a gem! The house was fantastic for us; myself, my husband and our 20 yo daughter along with our little chiweenie. The neighborhood was great. It was a little too chilly during our visit to get in the hot tub or enjoy a dunk in the ocean but we still enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sunset and it was a very short walk to see the sunrise on the beach in the morning. Close to everything we wanted to do but not smack in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Great comment animation with property management, they were fantastic! We really enjoyed our stay and will stay again when in Myrtle Beach.

Quiet home in nice area

Overall considering the time of year our stay was enjoyable. We never used the new hot tub as the weather was colder and rainy. This dog friendly home is probably worth the money but a hair dryer would have been nice to be included. The house is close to others but easy access to the beach and other stores and restaurants. In late November we did not hear any noise at all in the neighborhood. The view of the Marsh at sunset was outstanding.

Playing Hooky AWESOME

Full disclosure - My primary home is only 5 minutes away from this property. I believe this gives me a huge advantage in expressing my extreme love for this property. Perfect for hitting the beach (1 minute walk), perfect for fishing off the floating dock (fishing wasn't great; but it really hasn't been good all over Cherry Grove this year; so I'm good.), clean, comfortable, really all inclusive rental. Literally 5 mins from IGA (grocery), fuel, ice, all that stuff you forget at the end of a long day. Boullineaus (IGA and literally every store in Cherry Grove) has a great salad bar and buffet breakfast/lunch. I live here and have breakfast here every Saturday morning. It's basic, Southern; but gets the job done at a great price (FAMILY FRIENDLY). Platts's Seafood has everything you need. Visit them. If you don't set your clock for sunrise; you'll miss out on on the the best sunrises ever. Our beaches are talcum powder soft, clean and beautiful. Then from the upper deck of Playing Hooky; you'll enjoy one of the best sunsets. The upper deck looks directly west. Spectacular sun-sets. Really. Final words. Clean property. Needs some updates; but exceptionally better than nearly every rental I've every experienced. Kudos to the owners. A few hundred dollars will go a long way to keep this property in the top 1%. Beautiful Marsh Beach House

I stayed at this beach house for 2 weeks and had my family visit during my stay, to say we enjoyed the fishing dock would be an understatement. Beautiful site seeing each morning from the deck. Great bird viewing. We had a kayak group and a fishing group. Everyone had a fabulous time. This house is super close to the beach, great outdoor shower and pet friendly. Neighbors were nice as well. This is a dog neighborhood! My dog loved this area. The kitchen is not big and the fridge is undersized for the house bring a cooler for drink storage. The Super Walmart and Kroger are close. Kitchen appliances all work well and it has a washer and dryer in main bedroom. The beds were comfortable and the upstairs worked well for the kids. Very relaxing 2 weeks at Cherry Grove. Thank you for and awesome vacation!

We really enjoyed our stay at playing hooky. We would love to stay there again. It was exactly as described. We could walk to the beach, play corn hole and go fishing if we wanted to.

Great Location with Beautiful View

We were very impressed with everything including the check in process (quick and simple), the cleanliness of the house, and the location. This was our best vacation at Cherry Grove Beach so far. We loved the view and had so much fun on the kayaks. We will be staying here again!

Excellent Fishing and Kayaking for everyone, great location on the channel , water view's so pretty

Playing Hookey was fabulous, the family of 6 of us really enjoyed it, excellent fishing and kayaking day after day , appreciate everything, we left it very clean, just as upon arrival, very clean, upon our departure all towels, linens placed in tub on main floor, sheets too !.just as instructed from book on coffee table , , we had our clean sheet's, towels, linen's awaiting our arrival at the balcony door, we utilized the washer & dryer to rewash all towels midweek, to get us by, they do provide 12 bath towels, sometimes depending on the day of activity, a few took shower's twice in a day, here or there, so take laundry detergent, definitely comes in handy, plus only a few packed clothes really well for our 7 day stay, the only things I wanted to let management know for the next family, was, the one lamp on the right side of bed downstairs, the bulb does not work, and outside the farther garage light is also out , one near stairs works under garage. , that stove is really easily to turn on, the slightest lean, or bump to wipe counter, etc, the knob turns on , kinda dangerous,, it happened more than once, it could be on and not realizing it, gotta be careful there, I am use to a topper on my mattress for softer feel, thought the king downstairs was hard. , but many folks like a firm mattress, its duable, the beds upstairs are comfortable for the one's placed up there. other than those little things, its top notch., our overall experience renting from seaside vacations was very pleasant, will be back , appreciate all kindness shown from staff., checkout was a breeze !

Wonderful view of the marsh.

We loved the short walk to the beach. Some things like curtains, bedspreads, and throw pillows could be washed. One sofa was very stained. A new shower curtain, liner, and rod could do wonders for the upstairs bathroom. Last couple nights the neighbor's dogs barked incessantly. There are great restaurants close by. Overall, a 7 out of 10 rating.

Beautiful Christmas at the beach!

We really enjoyed our stay at Playing Hooky with our entire family. The porch and patio were a big hit as the weather was great for most of the stay and we could sit out at the big table by day and build puzzles and have a nice little fire in the table burner. The fire pit was also nice and cozy to sit around on the not so cold nights. Although the fish weren’t biting, the dock area was great to fish from. The house is nice and the rooms good size. The bathrooms are designed a bit weird with angles, but functional. I would recommend a stay!
