Glass Light… where do I begin.
Before I even arrived at the hotel, a huge red flag popped up. I came in from Philadelphia, I have never been to Norfolk in my life. When I arrived it was around 930pm and raining buckets. I called the front desk to obtain a landmarks near the hotel because my Uber driver could not find the hotel at all. I asked the front desk attendant was there a federal building near the hotel. She responded “Yes, there are several federal buildings in our area”. I asked, can I have a name of the one Glass Light, she just didn’t answer my question. I hung up, with literal steam rising for my head. My Uber driver and I drove around for another 10 to 15 minutes and I just got out and walked in until I was able to find the hotel.
So, this hotel does not have self service ice machines or stocked ice bags in common areas for guests to grab at their convenience. Therefore, the procedure is the request given a bucket of ice at the front desk or a bucket of ice is bought to the room. Everything was going smoothly when they were mailed at the front desk. On my second or third morning there I walked into the lobby after exercising and asked a female front desk attendant for a bucket of ice. She looked me dead’s in my eyes and stayed, “Do you need that now or can someone bring it up to your room?” I was taken back by her response and I said bring it up to my room. My eyes never came in the attendant told me to walk back to the kitchen and ask someone for it.
