"This may be my all time favorite of all the hotels I’ve stayed at! It’s maybe not for everyone but it oozes history and it felt like stepping back in time. The staff is really wonderful and were amazing. The beds super comfortable and the room had an amazing view of the river and mountains. If you’re a nostalgist like me you won’t be disappointed. "

"The best partnof this hotel is the onsen, very easy to use the private facility. The hotel is located quite a distance from the train station so it could be difficult to access depending on weather. However it was close to Toshogu shrine and the Kanmangafuchi Abyss was right next door. Highly recommend if you like relaxing in onsen waters."

"Super charming little hotel near the river surrounded by lush trees and mountains. It’s an older place but it adds to the charm. The room was clean and the area is super walkable to all main attractions. And close to the bus stop for the attractions further away. "

"I really love this hotel! The staff were kind and lovely, even though I’m not very good at communication. I stayed in Room 406, which had a window and a door leading out to the balcony — I absolutely loved it! There’s a Family Mart right across from the hotel, and it’s not far to walk from the train station. It was also very convenient to walk to the large supermarket in town. If I ever come back to Nikko, I will definitely stay here again."

"This place was a Mom & Pop operation with a very familial atmosphere. Ken and Ise were very welcoming and helpful with helping us get settled, finding our way around Nikko and just generally friendly and helpful. If you're interested in a more homey atmosphere vs. Corporate hotel this is the place for you "
