"What a stunning location this little house is in. Exactly what we wanted, dark skies at night, fabulous sea view and just minutes from the beach. The house is a country cottage, rustic but very well equipped, we had more than enough of towels, bedding, loo rolls, a full bottle of olive oil, herbs and spices plus plenty of serving dishes and utensils. "The Akrotiri Hotel was really good, so much so that we stayed longer than planned. The host Timus was very accommodating explaining that the breakfast was €7 extra per person despite the booking site stating that it was free but the receipt was ambiguous in that respect. The who are was very clean and tidy with fantastic beaches that we had largely to ourselves given it was still early in the season with clean public toilets at most beaches and towns. "This property is really special. It is spacious and beautiful and just has a certain quality about it. That makes you feel like a queen. The owner‘s mom lives down the hill and, although she doesn’t speak a lot of English, she was thorough in welcoming us and Showing us how to use the kitchen, etc. She had a crisper drawer full of fresh oranges and lemons and an electric orange juice maker. "We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a bicycle trip in the peloponnese. The location in old town was perfect - a bit busy during the day, but wonderful after about 5:00 p.m. The accomodation was excellent, but be aware that if you are trying to self-cater and use the kitchen facilities, there is no real grocery store in the old town, so you have to walk/drive the 1.5 km back to the new town (which has great facilities). "This is a nice property in Monemvasia but we did experience a few problems. The electricity went out multiple times and we were initially asked to work around their schedule for check-in time. Communication with the management was unpleasant and some untruths were told by them. Not sure whether this was an isolated event or a pattern. Perhaps others will have a better experience than we did. Nice looking property though."
