"Very walkable to area locations. Historically old but cleanest place I think I have ever stayed. Remember that many places don't have AC and this is one but fans in rooms with full length window open to balcony in our room. Narrow stairway to rooms if that means anything to anyone. Was fine for us. Breakfast was buffet style, tasty and we still had personal attention with refills, etc. Host made sure we had transportation to the cruise port."

"Does the job really! If you need a quick night's stay before getting the ferry or tunnel then it's ideal, however be aware that some rooms have no windows and the place is a *little* rundown. Main receptionist was really nice and very helpful - I would stay again but only for short stays."

"We stayed 3 nights, eating in each night. It is a really lovely establishment which has exceptional food and wonderful attentive staff. The full English breakfast is very good quality food cooked to a high standard, served by very friendly staff, perfect way to start your day! The evening meals carried on with quality food and cooking. Special mention here to Sam & Emily for exceptional service, smiles and making our anniversary special."

"Lovely setting..nice comfortable & good sized room. Food was very good, didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment.. My only complaint is the lack of a mirror close enough to a socket so you can dry your hair…most places don’t have one to be honest & as I’m only short I couldn’t see in the bathroom mirror to use that either. I was able to move the mirror on the door but was still 3 feet away from it. Wouldn’t make me not stay again.. The staff were all very good, smiley & efficient. "

"Newly refurbished excellent rooms even the single one I had was a reasonable size spotlessly clean with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast very good and the staff were helpful and polite "

"Had a lovely stay but the curtains are not ideal as they do not cover the windows properly. We were in a corner room so had two windows - we also had a neon sign outside so there was constant light in our room and it was misleading when we woke during the night Breakfast was lovely - great variety Staff very polity and helpful Would definitely return but would bring eye mask "

"Beautiful location, gorgeous looking house. Large bedroom and bathroom with a great view. The barman (blonde hair) sorry didn't catch his name was excellent very friendly, and nothing too much trouble. Food well presented and delicious, lady chef very nice friendly and well travelled. "Used the hotel as a night stop before an early ferry. It served thus purpose well was clean fidy with an easy check in helpful manager / owner. The hotel is a little dated but tidy and great for our 1 night stay only 15 minutes from either the ferry or eurotunnel."
