Booked through Expedia for a one night stay due to a surgery consultation.
Upon arrival, the Inn was desolate which was a red flag. Check in felt a bit unusual. The room was booked for three adults, but only two keys were provided (which is whatever). The front desk asked if I was okay going up stairs. That inquiry made me assume a ground level room was available, and when I requested one, I was advised there was not available. 🤔
The property layout was confusing and poorly marked. It took us about 10 minutes to locate the room. Once inside, the room appeared generally clean (what I'd expect for the cost) with no visible pest issues.
However, the bathroom was problematic. The bathroom door was extremely narrow to such a degree that my average sized husband hit both of his shoulders on the door frame trying to enter.
Most importantly, and the biggest issue, the toilet was nonfunctional. It would not flush properly. It could not handle a small amount of toilet paper. I attempted to call the front desk 3 times regarding this issue, but the line was busy each time. Because a functioning bathroom is a basic requirement, and I could not get front desk on the phone to address the issue, I immediately booked another hotel nearby and skedaddled. We spent more time trying to locate the room than we did occupying it.
The room itself did not appear unsafe or unsanitary, but the lack of a usable toilet made the stay absolutely unacceptable for us.
