"Rented the best room in the hotel, massive balcony with a breathtaking view of Vesuvius and the landscape of the volcano. Despite being about a 20 minute drive from the live section of Naples it was worth it. The room was modern, beautifully decorated with a kitchen so cooking was a great option with a near by grocery store with endless options. Employees were great! Again, if you want to spend evenings with family breaking bread and drinking wine while absorbing paradise until the sun sets...

"Jättefint och superlugnt boende en kort promenad från utgrävningarnas entre. Smakfulla rum och trevlig personal. Gratis parkering. Ett jätteminus dock för att någon (gissningsvis personalen) röker i anslutning till matsalen där man äter frukost, så äckligt. Inte lite röklukt utan superstark, som ett rökrum. "Villa Durante is a lovely old villa that’s well located for Herculaneum. The room we stayed in was lovely and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were able to check in early too. "Only 15 minute walk (with bags) from the Pompei archeological site. Great (and inexpensive) pizza place a couple of hundred metres down the road (recommended by Antonio), and a couple of hundred metres from two supermarkets. Antonio is awesome - he met us, let us in and showed us around. The apartment is lovely (and roomy). A proper shower that didn't make you feel like you were showering in a shoe box!
