  • Experience the original Africa in a villa with all the comforts. Away from tourist crowds and beach vendors. Enjoy the sunrise on a kilometer-long pristine beach or watch the sea eagles. Old trees and a steady light breeze from the sea make for a pleasant climate. The high Makuti roof and fans in the bedrooms cool the rooms. Your villa has 2 bedrooms with attached bathrooms, gallery room with balcony, living room with TV, DVD and a pool table, dining room, terrace, kitchen. The villa is located on a 2800sqm plot with old cashew nut trees. A maid will take care of the daily cleaning and your personal chef will be ready to spoil you 6 days a week.
    You just have to buy the food. The fishermen come to the house daily and offer your catch.
    Power supply is European. We have our own well.

    The village of Msambweni: A few minutes' walk from the village of Msambweni. Here you can experience the original Africa
    small stalls on the street and the colorful bustle. You can buy everything here fresh. Our chef will be happy to advise you and also cooks African if you want to try it.
    The village also houses the district hospital and the orphanage Nice View.

    The beach: The dream beach of Msambweni is mostly deserted and only a few fishing boats are located here.
    No beachboys and sellers annoying the beachwalking. You can relax here or hike for hours on the beach. Feel free to catch the fishermen early in the morning.
    The water temperatures are around the year 26 degrees and the surf is not too strong by the upstream reef.

    Excursions: The border with Tanzania can be reached in 40 minutes. After Tanga and the car ferry to Zanzibar is about 3 hours.
    The Mkomazi National Park in Tanzania is an insider tip and can be reached in about 5-6 hours.
    Here you will find untouched nature and only a few tourists.
    Nearby is Shimoni, from where all boats start to Kisite Marine National Park.
    It is 20 minutes to Diani Beach with many good restaurants and bars.

Great value getaway with great chef & world class beach

If you want to get away from it all, walk on an almost deserted world-class beach and come back to a fabulous meal including fresh fish purchased from a visiting fisherman, and get lulled to sleep by waves crashing on the reef then look no further than Villa Chui. If you want to walk to coffee shops, restaurants, shops and supermarkets then head to Diani. Villa Chui sits at the eastern end of a large fenced lot which includes at the western end, a smaller building sued by the maid and night-time security. Villa Chui presents in what I think of as African farmhouse with locally made furniture. Soft furnishings are clearly African and to my taste subtle. The ground floor provides a kitchen, living/TV area, indoor and outdoor dining. On the second floor are three bedrooms, one has a bathroom attached and the other two share a Jack and Jill bathroom. There is a west-facing outdoor seating area that is perfect for soaking up the early morning sun. A staircase leads to a rooftop patio that has covered seating and a covered table. Close to the villa is a small unheated swimming pool and steps leading to a track that runs parallel with the beach for a few hundred meters before providing beach access. You can also access the beach by walking towards the village and then turning down towards a primary school that is full of the cutest kids. The village itself reflects its rural location and to be honest has little in the way of interest. The msambweni beach is world-class, offering

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy real Kenian life. The team of the house was so friendly.

Villa Chui is a place to really dive into Kenya. The house has many wonderful places to sit, hear the ocean and relax. There was a wonderful team that prepared all our food and helped to keep the house and the pool clean . The beach is only round the corner and there were times when we were almost alone. I can recommend the house to all people who are looking for a real quiet , traditional place .

Unerträglicher Lärm

Sehr nettes Personal. Im Haus lief nur in einem der Schlafzimmer ein Ventilator. Der Aufenthalt wurde uns jedoch unerträglich durch den Lärm von Durchsagen und Musik von morgens um 5 bis abends um 9 von einem nahegelegenen (übernächster Nachbar) Campingplatz mit Jahrmarktsbetrieb. Und das, obwohl ich ausdrücklich nachgefragt hatte, ob die Umgebung ruhig ist oder etwa Musiklärm von Nachbarn zu befürchten wäre. - Nach diesem Urlaub brauchte ich erstmal Urlaub!

Urlaub mit Verwöhnprogramm

Wir waren zwei Wochen im November 2019 hier und haben das Verwöhnprogramm von Saidi (Koch), Laurencia und Mwanamkuu ( die Hausmädchen ) genossen. Die Kommunikation im Vorfeld mit Mildred war sehr gut und hilfreich bei der Vorbereitung. Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man im Urlaub so braucht, gutes Bett, sauberes Bad, einen Relaxbereich am Pool und gutes Essen. Das und noch viel mehr (Billardtisch und kleine Bibliothek mit überwiegend deutschen Büchern) findet ihr in der Villa Chui. Vom Balkon hat man einen wunderbaren Ausblick auf den Ozean, den wir morgens nach dem Aufstehen schon genossen haben. Saidi kocht den Gästen morgens, mittags und abends alles was man sich wünscht. Er ist mit uns ins Dorf einkaufen gegangen und hat beim Fischer leckeren Fisch ausgesucht. Dieser kam auf Bestellung ins Haus. Sogar Kuchen hat er uns gebacken zur Teatime und zum Dinner gab es auch leckere Desserts. Das stand einem Hotel in nichts nach. Die Mädchen haben täglich für Sauberkeit im Haus gesorgt und zweimal in der Woche wurde die Wäsche gewechselt. Durch die Nähe zum Dorf und die täglichen Einkäufe dort lernt man natürlich das afrikanische Leben hautnah kennen. Der Strand ist naturbelassen und fast menschenleer. Hin und wieder begegnet man ein paar Einheimischen, die auch gern ein Souvenir verkaufen möchten. Sie sind aber nicht aufdringlich. Der Pool wurde täglich von Jacob gereinigt. Martin wachte nachts über unsere Sicherheit. Alles in allem war es ein sehr schöner Urlaub. Wer auf den Cocktail abends an der Bar verzichten kann, die Ruhe liebt und landestypischen Urlaub machen möchte ist hier genau richtig. We found the Paradise

Wir haben im Februar acht wundervolle Tage in der Villa Chui verbracht. Was wir gesucht haben, haben wir dort gefunden. Nämlich Ruhe und Erholung. Man hat wirklich das Gefühl, als würde man auf der Stelle all den Alltagsstress ablegen und sich in einer anderen Zeit bewegen. Man lässt das hektische Treiben hinter sich und relaxt einfach nur. Das Personal, die Menschen im Dorf und nicht zuletzt die Vermieter sind allesamt sehr nette und warmherzige Menschen. Wir haben uns vom ersten Augenblick willkommen und wohl gefühlt. Alles organisatorische hat wunderbar geklappt, begonnen mit der Abholung am Airport, die Organisation unseres Segeltörns mit einem einheimischen Fischer - ein absolutes Highlight, dass wir bestimmt nicht vergessen werden - bis zum Besorgen von Kaffee. Danke. Das Haus lässt keine Wünsche offen, es ist sauber gepflegt und mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Der Koch zaubert einem die leckersten Gerichte, egal was man möchte. Wir haben sehr oft Fisch gegessen, morgens gefangen und am Abend auf dem Teller. Frischer geht es nicht. Die beiden Hausmädchen haben jeden Tag das Haus geputzt, die Betten gemacht, das Essen serviert und sonst alles getan damit wir uns wohl fühlen. Selbst ein von den Affen von der Wäscheleine stibitztes Kleidungsstück wurde gerettet und uns zurückgegeben. Ausflüge haben wir „nur“ zwei gemacht, einmal das besagte Abenteuer, der Segeltörn mit Captain A. - Ein äußerst angenehmer Mensch, man fühlt sich wirklich sicher, trotz der Tatsache, dass man mit einem einfachen Fischerboot mal eben 35 km auf dem offenen Meer unterwegs ist. - zur Insel Wasini. Leider haben sich an dem Tag die Delfine nicht blicken lassen, so dass wir nochmal den "Pauschaltourist-Ausflug" gemacht haben. Zu unserer großen Freude haben wir dann doch Delfine gesehen, ein einmalig schöner Anblick. Was können wir noch sagen? Es war einfach nur schön! ASANTE SANA! Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen.

Una casa para no hacer nada y descansar

Los empleados son muy amables (incluye chef que cocina muy bien y limpieza) y la casa es amplia. No está casi decorada lo que no resulta frio, sino espacioso. La piscina es pequeña pero agradable. Está a 3 minutos de una playa larga con palmeras, arena blanca y color turquesa (aunque tiene rocas y algas y no es fácil bañarse). La población local te ofrece servicios y productos cuando sales de la propiedad.

Traumurlaub

Wir haben wunderschöne 2 Wochen in der Villa verbracht. Der Koch Masudi und die beiden Hausmädchen Faisa und Mapenzi haben uns verwöhnt. Wir brauchten uns um nichts kümmern. Nachts hat uns Martin mit seinen Hunden bewacht. Obwohl wir uns immer sicher gefühlt haben. Die Menschen im Dorf sind herzlich und offen Fremden gegenüber. Der Ort und die Villa sind ideal um Ruhe zu geniessen und den realen kenianischen Alltag kennenzulernen. Die Villa hat einen schönen Pool und einen schönen Garten. Der Ausblick vom Balkon und von der Terasse ist einmalig. Es war ein toller Urlaub!

Traumurlaub direkt am Meer und mitten im afrikanischen Dorf

Wir haben unsere Weihnachtsferien in der Villa Chui verbracht und waren begeistert. Haus: Das Haus ist großzügig angelegt, hat insgesamt drei Schlafzimmer und zwei Bäder mit WCs im oberen Stock. Die Betten sind alle mit Moskitonetzen ausgestattet. Unten gibt es einen großen Wohnbereich mit ausreichend Sitzgelegenheiten (und einen Billardtisch, der uns viele unterhaltsame Abende bescherte) sowie eine Küche und ein weiteres WC. Die Einrichtung ist geschmackvoll und typisch afrikanisch. Oben gibt es einen Balkon, von dem man einen super Blick auf das Meer hat und unten eine große Terrasse ebenfalls mit Blick aufs Meer. Der hauseigene Pool war sehr gepflegt und es gab ausreichend Liegen, Auflagen und Badetücher. Lage: Mwasmbweni ist ein typisch afrikanisches Dorf mit vielen kleinen Läden, in denen man Lebensmittel kaufen kann. Wer allerdings nach einem Supermarkt bzw. nach internationalen Konsumgütern sucht, muss sich auf den Weg nach Ukunda (ca. 20 km entfernt) machen. Auch Banken bzw.Geldautomaten sind nur dort zu finden. Im Dorf gibt es einige "Kneipen", von denen man sich auch ein kühles Bier mit nehmen kann. Die Leute im Dorf waren alle ausgesprochen freundlich und haben uns herzlich empfangen. Strand: Der Strand ist traumhaft und fast menschenleer. Bei Ebbe kann man bis zum Riff spazieren und bei Flut gut schwimmen und schnorcheln. Für einen Strandspaziergang ist er immer geeignet. Restaurants/Bars am Strand gibt es keine. Personal: Der Privatkoch und die Hausmädchen waren sehr nett und haben uns das Gefühl gegeben, sehr willkommen zu sein. Der Koch hat für uns jeden Tag frisch und lecker gekocht - vor allem Fisch, den wir vom Fischer, der uns dort besuchte, täglich frisch erworben haben. Jeden Abend kam Martin und hat für unsere Sicherheit gesorgt, wobei ich sagen muss, dass wir uns nie unsicher gefühlt haben. Ausflüge: Wir haben lediglich einen 2_Tages Ausflug nach Tsavo Ost und West gebucht - sehr empfehlenswert! Tolle Landschaft und viele Tiere. Es gibt jedoch auch Angebote fürs Schnorcheln und vieles mehr. Zusammenfassung: Wir hatten einen wirklich tollen Urlaub! Für all jene, die das ursprüngliche Afrika abseits des Massentourismus und Kontakt zu den Einheimischen suchen, ist diese Unterkunft wärmstens zu empfehlen. Wir haben es sehr genossen und bedanken uns aufs herzlichste für die wunderbare Zeit, die wir dort verbringen durften!

Traumvilla in perfekter Lage

Mein Gesamturteil für meinen 16tägigen Aufenthalt in der Villa Chui kann schlichtweg nur sehr positiv (oder in Schulnoten: mit einer 1 bewertet) ausfallen. Das Urteil beruht auf vielen Faktoren, wovon ich besonders das Haus selbst sowie die sehr angenehme Atmosphäre betonen möchte. Die Grundausstattung der Villa steht einem guten Hotel in nichts nach und was besonders schön ist, ist die Tatsache, dass man an sehr vielen Kleinigkeiten sieht, dass die Planung und Durchführung des Baus der Villa mit viel Feingefühl ausgeführt wurde. So stellt man bei den Liegen am Pool seine Bücher, Drinks, oder Ähnliches nicht auf einen Plastiktisch, sondern auf geschnitzten Baumstumpf. Auch spielt man nicht mit einfachen Schachfiguren, sondern mit steinernen Tieren… Gerade bei derartigen Details wird klar, dass sich jemand viel Gedanken gemacht hat, um den Ansprüchen seiner Gäste gerecht zu werden. Dann noch zur Lage: Ich bin bisher noch auf keinem Balkon gesessen, der mir auch nur eine halbwegs vergleichbare Aussicht gewährt hat: Blick auf das Meer und den Sandstrand mit wehenden Palmen – vor diesem Hintergrund haben Tätigkeiten wie ein Buch lesen, in sich kehren oder ein Bierchen trinken, gleich eine vollkommen andere Bedeutung. Zu Recht habe ich das Foto, was ich von diesem Balkon aus gemacht habe, seitdem als Handy-Hintergrundbild eingerichtet. Weiterhin unheimlich angenehm fand ich die Herzlichkeit der Angestellten, die sich mir gegenüber so verhalten haben, als würde ich zur Familie gehören. Jedoch waren nicht nur die hauseigenen Angestellten sehr hilfsbereit und nett, sondern auch die Dorfbewohner. Dort hat jeder ein Jambo übrig und man fühlt sich nicht als weißer Mann, der unwillkommen und fremd ist, sondern man wird als Mensch respektiert. Dies merkt man an vielen Ecken und Enden, sei es bei den netten Gesprächen an den Shops, bei denen man Zigaretten, Gemüse und Co kauft, oder sei es bei den Erzählungen der altruistischen Hilfsgemeinschaftsmitarbeiter, mit denen ich gesprochen habe. Der Urlaub wird mir auf jeden Fall noch lange in meinem Gedächtnis bleiben und von den schönen Erfahrungen, die ich dort gemacht habe, werde ich noch lange zehren können. Und ich sage mal so: Demjenigen, dem es dort nicht gefällt, möchte ich nur mein Beileid aussprechen, da er für die schönen Plätze der Welt wohl blind zu sein scheint. Ich hoffe, dass meine Zeilen ein wenig von den tollen Erlebnissen widerspiegeln kann.

Schöne Villa an der kenianischen Küste

Letzten Oktober habe ich zehn Tage in der Villa Chui in Msambweni verbracht. Das Haus an sich ist geräumig, sehr sauber und wunderschön gelegen. Vor allem der Meeresblick vom Balkon aus ist (v.a. zu sehr frühen/sehr späten Stunden) unvergesslich. Am besten gefallen hat mir die Tatsache, dass das Haus in einem kleinen Dorf liegt, also fernab von dem doch sehr touristischen Diani. Wenn man trotzdem Lust auf "mehr Menschen" hat, kann man ohne Probleme günstig per Taxi (die Angestellten in der Villa können einem einen guten und sicheren Taxifahrer empfehlen) oder für die etwas abenteuerlustigeren mit dem sehr überfüllten Matatu fahren, was wirklich ein Erlebnis ist. Der Koch und die Haushälterin sind beide sehr freundlich und helfen einem bei allem, was man braucht (sogar privat-suaheli-Stunden:). So war ich zum Beispiel mit der Haushälterin Obst und Stoffe im Dorf kaufen, was ein sehr schönes Erlebnis war. Auch das Essen, das der Koch zubereitet, kann man sich selbst aussuchen und es schmeckt zudem sehr gut. Sehr zu empfehlen ist auch, traditionell kenianische Speisen auszuprobieren! Dass der Strand etwas steinig ist, stimmt. Jedoch ist dafür weit und breit kein einziger Tourist zu sehen, man sieht höchstens mal einen Kenianer beim Fischen. Da nehme ich ein paar Felsen gern in Kauf! Insgesamt kann ich also sagen, dass der Urlaub sehr schön war - ich würde jeder Zeit wieder hinfahren! Ahsante na kwaheri :)

Dream Holiday

beautiful house, beautiful beach , beautiful people ! We had 2 weeks of the best. Masudi ( cook ) is excellent and we loved the fish he grilled every day for us. The beach is a dream. No beach boys and you can walk 1 hour alone. The waves are not to high, so our children had a lot of fun. We enjoyed the pool directly on the house. You can walk through the village for shopping and we always find friendly people who helped us to find the right place for buying what we need. We will come back next year !!

ok for relaxing away from touristic areas

The good: Very quiet location, perfect to get a bit off the beaten path and away from the busy Diani Beach area. The house is fairly well taken care of overall. If you are looking for a quiet, fairly remote location to relax for a few days, it’s probably a good fit. Probably best to go there without children. The not so good: The kitchen was not well equipped and it lacked a coffee machine. Utensils, pots and pans were not sufficient. There are no shops around, bring anything you think you will need as you can’t even buy milk there, just a few vegetables. The house workers were always there starring at you the whole day. They would be in the house, in the kitchen cooking their own food in your kitchen, listening to their music in your house. We felt like we could not relax and as if we constantly lived with other people. They kept their food in the kitchen and fridge, so we always felt a bit uncomfortable not being sure how many tomatoes were ours and felt like we had to ask every time our kids wanted to grab a fruit or carrot. Sometimes I am pretty sure they were helping themselves with our rice or other groceries. It was just a bit unpleasant not to feel at home but to have invading roommates. Outside furniture was insufficient, if you look at the pictures in detail, you will notice they actually moved the furniture from the balcony to the terrace because they don’t have two sets of furniture. If the furniture is on the balcony and you want to sit on the terrace, you have to move everything down yourself one floor if you want to have somewhere to sit. The staff however somehow have their own views of where things should go and move everything back when you are not looking, so you start all over the next day. The ceiling was not finished in one of the rooms, and you were starring at the roof. This would not have been a problem if the custom made mosquito nets had been adequate. Instead they did not fit the beds and we did not sleep for a week as we were just devoured. We tried to buy our own nets, but with beds with wooden pillars it’s not so easy to install commercial nets. You cannot swim there as the beach is rocky. The really cheap: The staff only informed us there was hot water on the last day, not sure if it was to save on electricity or just laziness. The pool was not cleaned and turned green after a couple of days. There is a pool table, but you have to pay extra to play. It felt a bit like a rip off, with staff trying to save/make money
