The Green House Mawella

On Sri Lanka’s wonderful south coast lies the beautiful bay of Mawella, The Green House, self catered, just 70 meters away from Mawella’s 1 Mile of crescent shaped beach of soft sand, palm trees and crystal clear water.
You will see the beach as you open the gate, stroll down the quiet lane onto the soft sand for a body board, a swim or just sit and soak up its natural beauty. An amazing place for all ages.
Our manager Rasitha will meet you at the property and show you around, and is easily contacted should you need anything further. We can also be contacted via text. Nalaka, an invaluable member of our team is responsible for cleaning inside/outside and changing linen.

Access to the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen all lead from the main living space. Multiple Bi-Fold doors ensure that air and light flow freely through the open plan living and dining room. Offering a contemporary space bringing as much of the outside in as possible. Overhead fans, poured concrete and light colours help keep the space cool.

Kitchen
We offer the chance to cook using the fantastic fresh ingredients the local markets have to offer.
There is a stainless steel fan oven and 4 ring induction hob below the extract fan.
A large fridge/freezer. The kitchen also has a washing machine, theres an area to hang your washing out behind the outbuilding or on the drying racks provided.

Bedrooms
Each bedroom has its own en-suite leading to a courtyard, bringing the outside in.
Fitted with modern shower units and solar heated hot water throughout the property.
Rooms 1 and 2 have Sri Lankan queen beds equipped with a mosquito net, bedside tables, wardrobes, lamps and suitcase stand.
Room 3 has two single beds with a mosquito net each, and a wardrobe.
All bedrooms have ceiling fans, air conditioning, places to hang and store clothes and black out blinds for the late sleepers.

Pool
Our favourite place to be is by the pool! The Green House has a 5 feet deep 22x7 feet pool, decking and 4 sun beds. Behind the pool deck you’ll find an outside shower and foot wash.

Please note the 5ft deep pool is not guarded!

Garden
The large white walls of the building and boundary wall give the Green House a fresh contempory look,
Theres an outside seating area with umbrella to enjoying slow evening meals with family or friends, coupled with the warm glow of strategically placed uplighting next to our favourite palms.

Roof Terrace
Following the main living area is the atrium. A concrete staircase leads up to a first story roof terrace complete with a wooden pergola, table and chairs, an Ideal area for early morning tea and coffee as the sun comes up.
A breakfast watching the monkeys help themselves to coconuts from the treetops. Also at dusk lookout for fruit bats!

Please look after the house as it is our home.
We also ask guests not to sit on inside furniture with wet costumes, towels and clothing.
No smoking inside.
