This Rustic Remote cabin was built in 1925 and is located in the Sequoia National Forest. It is 10.7 miles (approx 23 minutes) from the Visitor Center in Grant Grove Village in Kings Canyon Nat'l Park and less than 20 miles (approx 30 minutes or less traveling on Generals Hwy through the park) to Sequoia Nat'l Park and Shermans Tree. Located off of main road No long dirt driveways to go down. Please be sure to park in your designated parking area. There will be a marker displaying Stansfield Cabin. This clean and cozy cabin sleeps 2. Window unit AIR CONDITIONER IN BEDROOM! Amenities include Wi-Fi, Smart TV, formal dining room, basic stocked kitchen, deck Apartment size refrigerator, Micro-wave and smaller size oven. Cabin has breakfast nook, living area and restroom. This cabin is surrounded by giant evergreen trees. If allergies are a problem, this cabin may not be for you. Cabin is Easy Self-Check In. Single night stays welcome as well as 2, 3, 4, & 5 night stays. In case of snow, snow shovels are provided for guest to use. NO smoking of any kind anywhere on this property in the cabin or outside. 10/10 cabin to stay at. It snowed and it kept us warm all night! Had the best view of the stars and a short drive to Kings Canyon Park.

Loved staying at this cozy cabin located so closely to King's Canyon entrance. Even with temperatures outside in the 30s it was plenty warm inside with the heaters, extremely clean with a dining area, full kitchen and comfortable bed. Can't wait to come back!

We were there on Thanksgiving. This was a really cozy place! It’s full of history and atmospheric details. A little bit cold in the bathroom but overall enough heating in other rooms. The house is located somewhere at the height level of 4000 feet, so be prepared to drive uphills about 40-60 minutes. Sequoia National Park is 30 minutes if driving and the way is very winding

Very dusty and to many items on every thing like on table , shelves, everywhere no place to but any Personal items ! All dishes were dirty had to wash everything before using .. sink look very dirty or was it stain … very un tidy.. vacuum and brooms were in the closet we had to used to had are clothes unsanitary…

We booked the cabin with some trepidation. Let's face it, there is not a great deal to choose from in the area, and some of the reviews made me nervous. That being said, I really can't describe how happy we were with the cabin. Sure it's quirky. What 100 year old cabin isn't? But it also had everything we needed and more, and we absolutely loved it. If you are looking for a generic, cookie cutter cabin, this is not it. If you are looking for something special and unique, well, here it is. We are already planning our next stay.

The cabin was very quaint and quiet. Bigger inside than it looks. Husband found it difficult to walk at night on the slanted floor. The door was tricky to lock when going out for the day. It’s a 100 year old cabin and parts feel it. Overall we were happy with it. Would love to give it a 4.8 stars just to please the hubby instead of the 4 he insists on, but not an option. Not a lot of options for food unless you bring your own and make sure you gas up before you get to town!

Such a cool property and home! Cabin is decorated beautifully, amenities were plentiful. Fans were provided, and air conditioning in the bedroom. It was perfect. Cabin was very clean and cozy. Property owners were wonderful to work with. Hope to return some day!

If you want an 'authentic cabin experience near the park, this is your destination. It is rustic, 1910 cabin with original flooring, clawfoot tub, and wildlife coming through the yard. We saw doe with 2 fawns, a myriad of California quail.

Overnight stay while visiting Kings Canyon and Sequoia Nat’l Parks

After a long day exploring King’s Canyon, we drove out of the park to our lodging. An important point to appreciate is that the roads out of these parks are often twisty and turning through the foothills and can be a bit challenging! The cottage is across from what is probably the only eating establishment in this small hamlet, which is convenient if you have no groceries of your own! This is a rustic cottage - embrace the charm of sloping floors and unique features that accompany such places!
