Poble Medieval d'Ourem

The hotel is really nice in general. We had a Sweet (bigger, nicer, more expensive) but noticed right off the mat, but it felt very hot (lots of windows, but also a lot of radiant heat from the sun. The air conditioner did not seem to be working very well. We asked them to check it on night number three, and they said everything was fine. But when we got back from dinner, it was very very hot. It was definitely cooler outside than inside, so we had to open all of the windows to let a little cool air come in, and threw the blanket on the ground and used only a sheet. It was still super hot all night, and loud as well because of surrounding noises. We hardly slept at all.

Our stay at Sintra’s Rose Garden Essence was absolutely lovely and very whimsical—the perfect atmosphere for a visit to Sintra’s beautiful castles and palaces. The room was a good size, with a nicely appointed bathroom and thoughtful amenities including shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, a shower cap, and a vanity box. We also felt very safe, with secure, coded access to both the building and our room. Breakfast was beautifully arranged and offered enough options to get the day started, including traditional meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, omelettes, variety of breads and scrambled eggs. Our host was gracious and welcoming, offering wonderful recommendations for restaurants and castles to visit, as well as transportation options. She was also happy to answer all of our questions throughout our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again!
