"Good location 15 mins walk to centre along the river. Clean rooms and adaquite kitchen. Free morning pastries was a basket full of plain croissants not alot of choise there. Coffee machine was broke but hot water and coffee available in its place. We just made one in our room. Lovely veiw over the river."

"Last minute booking for a cheeky overnight sojourn in York. First time visit, slightly out of the centre, but close to frequent bus service. Traditional hotel, spotlessly clean, with a few creaking bits. Special mention for the excellent receptionist, Jessica. Good value for money and will definitely be back!"

"The hotel was amazing. The room and bathroom were very spacious (the biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in). The staff were very kind and helpful. The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring York, with the city centre only a 10-minute walk away. The only downside I can think of is that the bath drain smelled a little funky, but I think that’s fairly normal for historic buildings, especially on the ground floor. We will definitely stay there again if we visit York in the future. Highly...

Breakfast was fresh with a wide selection of options available while other restaurant meals served well after a day of activity. Staff were friendly and happy to help with our enquiries. "Very helpful staff who provided excellent service and the room was comfortable. However the hotel patrons were rowdy and public areas like the toilets in the common area were dirty. The people in the room next to us were loudly talking into the early hours of the night which was so frustrating, so we didn't sleep well. But not the fault of the hotel. "
