Tikal was absolutely incredible. get there early and do the sunrise tour. You'll get to watch the sunrise from the top of the tallest Myan pyramid yet discovered. You get to watch as the jungle just comes alive. The birds wake up, and then the monkeys, and then the other animals of the rainforest. it was a beautiful experience. Do it sometime in the months of December - February so that you will be more likely to actually see the sunrise in a clear sky as opposed to shrouded by early morning fog.

Tikal is the remains of an ancient Mayan city in the rainforest of Guatemala. It's one of the largest archaeological sites of the Mayan civilization, and it's a fascinating experience to walk amongst the ruins. #tikal #guatemala

The property is wonderful. We woke up to howler monkeys, saw lots of spider monkeys swinging around trees on the property. It was nice to sit at the main lodge and watch for birds. It is the closest hotel to the Tikal ruins, so an easy walk down a hill to the entrance. Super helpful if you want to ...

Room was clean and comfortable, but on the small side. Hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes and towels would be helpful. Also, the hinges on the bathroom door could use oiling (loud creaks in the middle of the night). The hotel restaurant is excellent!
