Cozy Cottage Retreat, Close to Yosemite, Beautiful Views, Hot Tub & More!

This charming private cottage with beautiful views of the mountains is a great getaway for a couple or small family to relax and explore. You'll enjoy the private "country" setting and the proximity to the several Gold Rush towns of the Mariposa area. Just over an hour, through our "Wild and Scenic" Merced River Canyon, is Yosemite National Park. Our home is a great place to make memories, and a local professional photographer is available to capture them.


This cottage has a 1 bedroom with a full loft, which looks out through the large 2 story windows to the mountains. There is a fully stocked kitchen with all modern appliances. We offer basic spices, coffee and tea.

During the cold months, you can enjoy a nice glass of wine or hot cup of chocolate snuggled up to the wood burning stove. The wood for the stove is always fully stocked. It is close to the Badger Pass winter sports area and ice skating in the park and Tenaya Lodge. We offer his and hers snowshoes and snow sleds for a fun day in the snow.

The bedroom and loft are appointed with comfortable queen beds and a sofa that turns into a very comfortable double bed (There are reviews verifying the comfort of the bed.). The towels and linens are high quality soft cotton. The loft has a comfortable sitting area to read and relax. The library provides a wide variety of books, games and puzzles.

From the living area you can walk out onto the private deck with seating for 6+, a gas grill and a hot tub. The hot tub is right off the deck, which you can relax and soak up the incredible view of the sierras or star gaze in the evening.

All year we provide a herb garden and in the summer we grow yummy tomatoes for the guests to enjoy.

We also have a beautiful home on the same property, which is private and separate from the cottage. The home can be rented with the cottage for a big get together. To view the home please see 779053.

My wife and I had a fantastic stay. Susan was kind enough to allow us to use the washer at the larger rental property on site with nobody renting. The place was beautiful and private. The hot tub and view of the mountains was wonderful as well.

It was the perfect place for us to rest and relax. We loved the quietness, hot tub, general layout and view of the hills through the south windows and deck. The kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials. We hope to be back to enjoy it with another couple.

We wanted a place away from the noise and chaos of the city and we got exactly that. The patio and hot tub were awesome and we enjoyed the nights eating dinner with the sunset and stargazing in the hot tub. Waking up to the sunrise gleaming through the windows was another highlight! We loved the kitchen amenities, as they made cooking a quick dish easy. Being someone with food allergies it is always apprecaited to have the ability to cook meals when away from home. The town is also close by for dining and shopping and yosmite is not to far either. The hosts were awesome and welcoming and provided all the info you would need for your visit.

This cottage was the perfect retreat for our long weekend getaway and trip to Yosemite. Susan was super friendly and welcoming and met us on the property. The house was tastefully and comfortably furnished, kitchen was well stocked, bed was comfortable, and hot tub was wonderful!

Everything was sooo beautiful! The living space was very cozy and comfortable. The loft was especially cozy. The kitchen was nice and easy to navigate. The back patio was so beautiful, with the view of the wooded hills. The hot tub was very relaxing, especially at night under the stars. The stars shine so bright out there compared to our home on the crowded east coast. Everything was just so nice and relaxing, a perfect honeymoon experience!

Everything was absolutely amazing. Quiet. Private. Lots of beautiful birds and a couple cats. Fully. FULLY. stocked kitchen. Lots of extra blankets, towels and seating. Many extras for baby and children. Board games and books. We stayed for about a week. If you arrive at night look for the address markers at bottom of drive. I can notthink of one con about this location. All pros! Shower has exceptional pressure. Coolers for renters use. Lots of extras. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash. A collection of bug spray and sun block. At the rental you probably do not need bug spray, but at Yosemite,maybe.

2-night getaway to Yosemite

We were at Susan and Brian’s beautiful cottage for a weekend and had the coziest, most wonderful stay. The sun shines in every room and at night, the stars are the clearest we’ve ever seen them. Susan was very welcoming and accommodating. The place itself was very comfortable and had everything you could need for a quick getaway. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect Yosemite Home Base

My wife, my son and I stayed at the cottage during our recent Yosemite trip. It was lovely. The property is so peaceful. It's little bit of a drive from Mariposa (took us 15 minutes) but was worth it for the privacy and wonderful views. The property had lots of little touches we appreciated. The hosts were amazing and communicated proactively before and through the stay.

Cozy cabin getaway!

We loved the cozy cabin for our adventure to Yosemite National Park. It was about an hour drive, but the scenery was beautiful so we didn’t mind. It was nice and quiet but the town was close enough to drive and get food easily. The bed was so comfy, and the hot tub was amazing after a long day of hiking. We were greeted with a nice bottle of wine. So kind!!

Restful retreat near Yosemite

Susan and Brian were very hospitable and responsive. This location is so quiet, peaceful, and quaint. A lovely evening retreat after long hiking days! We really enjoyed the grill and hot tub. Drive into Yosemite is 1hr 20 mins but is a lovely route and goes by fast. Hiked Hites Cove, which is only about 40 mins away on our first day. Easy access to Mariposa. Highly recommend the Cozy Cottage Retreat!

Great!

We definitely plan on coming back! The only thing that I wish I could change would having more privacy the windows towards the porch had no blinds. The hostess was very sweet and helped us when we couldn’t figure out the jacuzzi (due to an Er message) and drove down later in the night to help us with an issue.

Cute and cozy cottage

Our stay in Mariposa was wonderful. It was a great base location for our visits to Yosemite and exploring the town of Mariposa. We enjoyed the wood burning stove at the end of the winter days in the park. Kitchen amenities were extensive which allowed us to cook in. Communication with the hosts was clear and quick. Thank you for a great stay!
