About this space:

Situated on the Ruby Coast at the gateway to the Tasman Region, our oasis is the perfect place to relax or explore the Abel Tasman National Park.

As soon as you arrive, you will be mesmerized by the uninterrupted sea views and beautifully landscaped gardens.

With four bedrooms, two bathrooms, there is plenty of space for everyone.

Facilities include a hot tub, outdoor fire, kayaks, BBQ area, outdoor lounges, fully enclosed lawn and gardens & more.

The space:

Located right on the beach front in Ruby Bay, our place is the perfect spot to unwind and relax, or make the most of the outdoors.

Our house is the perfect mix of modern and retro; you will have fun exploring some of the eclectic decor. It is as comfortable and as homely as you can get. There are four bedrooms with two bathrooms. External stairs connect the upstairs and downstairs. There is a caravan available on request if you have extra guests.

Enjoy the outdoor hot tub, take the kayaks out on the bay in front of the house, wash the sand off in the outdoor shower and have a drink on the deck while the sun goes down.

Getting there couldn't be easier. Less than 30 mins drive from the airport, the Tasman region has a plethora of activities at the ready. From award winning restaurants and cafes at the Mapua wharf, to breweries, galleries, Abel Tasman National Park, and the Great Taste Trail on your doorstep.

Loved the location and the house. The house was the perfect size for our group. The house was clean, the linen and towels were good quality. The kitchen was well equipped and everything it excellent working order. Loved the retro touches right down to the dinner plates.

Great accommodation. Clean spacious and well equipped. The garden and outdoor seating was amazing with beautiful views and right on the beach. Welcoming and friendly host. Would definitely stay again next time we’re in the area.

I normally dont like to write negstive reviews, but this was far from an oasis, and not having valid reviews keeps people from knowing what they are paying a lot ofoney for. This was a very old house that was not decorated nicely at all. The beach in front of the house looked like a junk yard, with huge dead trees all over the beach, even a random tire laying on the beach. There is a public walkway to the beach right beside the house, and people walk their dogs and leave piles of crap right in front of the house that you have to watchnout for so you don'tstep in it. And the beach is not a nice sandy beach, but instead is full of tennis ball sized rocks, not even fun to walk on, and certainly not to lay on or swim in. This just isnt a nice place for a vacation, and the low quality of the house just made it worse, especially for the high price. And the hot tub was so dirty i could barely see the bottom, and the buttons had fallen off it was so old, so i didnt get to use that either.

We throughly enjoyed our stay in this charming , slighty quirky (a renovated 1970s house with double glazing & up to date bathrooms) holiday home right on the beach front. Wonderful views around the bay, easy access to the beach. A very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, great shower pressure. The host responded quickly to any query ( including my suggestion that the pillows could be updated). I recommend this Ruby Bay property. We loved it, you will too.

What a great location, made even better by the comfortable, well appointed and unique house! This is a perfect base to explore all that the region has to offer - in all directions. Cosy for a couple but great also for a larger group. If you’re looking for a relaxing holiday by the sea, you’ll love this. Highly recommended!

Great place to stay for some R&R!

We had a great time, staying three nights with our two kids (4 and 1). Great cozy house (we just stayed upstairs) and very accessible to the various tourist spots across Tasman/Golden Bay + accessible to Nelson/Richmond and Motueka. Kids loved the place and especially the container of duplo! Thanks for having us Sue!

Stunning location with every detail taken care of.

The Costa Ruby was the perfect place to stay, we were not disappointed. Every detail was taken care of, making it a home away from home. Sue & Whitney were fantastic hosts, they were very organised and the communication we received from the time we booked, lead up to our arrival, the information booklet at the property and responsiveness to our texts showed we were important to them. The home was well appointed, even catering for your entertainment needs with kayaks, hot tub, games and local information. Absolutely loved the decor - it made the home feel so welcoming. Highly recommend this place, we would certainly come back and stay at this location again Thanks for having us - 5 stars from us!!

Perfect holiday!

A wonderful holiday home, with some much love and details put in. Thank you for a great holiday! The view is spectacular and the house has everything you could need. Starry spas were a winner for us. We will definitely return! Absolutely brilliant!

What a magical gem in an amazing location

This has been one of our favorite picks in the Tasman / Nelson area. The property is quirky, stylish, functional and lovely. The beach right out back is gorgeous. Nearby Māpua wharf became a regular visit for the family and we enjoyed every aspect of this place, the walking paths, the food, the shells. A little slice of heaven on earth.

Stunning Decks and Gardens!

We Loved our stay at Costa Ruby - such an amazing place to relax and unwind. Comfy beds, great shower, stunning views and of course the Hot Tub! Love the retro theme upstairs and all the little Knick knacks. so much thought has gone into everything. Very cool!

Beautiful spot

Lovely family villa. We all stayed on the top floor no issues and used the bedrooms below to store luggage. Gorgeous spot on the beach. We cycled and went for long walks. The takeaway next door had great Thai!

5 Star Beach House

Our 3 night stay at Ruby Bay with family at this amazing beach front property was fantastic. Massive out door balcony area extremely well equipped with sun lounges, BBQ, tables the list goes on. Kitchen had everything you needed and oven was excellent. Loved the décor, that 70's feeling took us all back. Great bedrooms and comfortable beds. View was wonderful and you are steps away from the beach. Take away next door which was handy but took full advantage of the BBQ and balcony and fantastic view. My only negative for this property was there was a little too much chlorine in the spa, but apart from that would highly recommend and would not hesitate staying again. Central location to explore the Tasman Region which is a magical part of NZ. Thank you Sue, your property from the front gate to the beach is 5 Star
