Lady Florence, Cosy unique luxurious River Boat with Castle Views in Maidstone

A unique houseboat, located on the River Medway in Maidstone, Kent. A family run self catering holiday rental, where you can come away to relax and unwind from everyday life. Lady Florence is surrounded by breath-taking views of Allington Castle, in a peaceful location. Is the perfect place to stay for a romantic weekend, honeymoon, birthday or a luxury breakaway. The main bedroom has a small double bed, smart tv, DVD player, wardrobe and large glass sliding doors allow you to look out on the day and watch as the passing boats sail down the river. Alternatively, step out on to the end terrace and take a seat at the table and chairs to enjoy your morning cuppa. The kitchen area is fully equipped for all your self catering needs. Equipment includes an electric hob & oven, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave and a luxury coffee machine. The bathroom has a full sized shower with a powerful shower head. A pull out sofa bed which is best situated for two small children or one adult. The lounge area is fitted with a Smart TV, loaded with Netflix/Prime. Also you are able to fish from the end terraces or towpath.

Absolutely fantastic

Chose this for a birthday weekend for my partner who loves rivers and he was not disappointed. Absolutely brilliant and perfect. Houseboat is modern, fresh, clean, bed comfortable, two TVs, coffee machine & complimentary wine & biscuits. Such a beautiful location. The castle is behind the trees and you can book a tour Tuesdays in the summer. Park in Premier Inn car park (book this online) then head for river front turn left away from the lock & houseboat is 5 min walk along tow path. Very easy to find. We loved the lock, cafe next to lock, Malta Inn for food, walks into Maidstone (30 mins) Kent Life is well worth a visit and just behind the Malta Inn. We could easily have stayed a week. Loved waking up to ducks on river, dinner on the deck area watching towers, swans, lovely as well when it rains . I’ve travelled across the world but have to say I’d return here again !

Fabulous alternate holiday accommodation

Fabulous place to stay (we'll be back). Clean and tidy, well laid out with a surprisingly big shower for this type of accommodation. Lot of nice touches including welcome products from the owner in a few places (won't spoil the surprise by listing them). Lovely big windows on both ends and a fabulous view from the lounge/diner along the river as the mooring is very well situated. We experienced lovely weather events: sunshine bouncing off the river and dancing on the ceiling; orange sunsets over the other boats and heavy rain hammering on the roof and the river - all very immersive. Over the 2 days we were also visited on occasion by a family of swans, ducks, geese - all very curious and friendly. Walked into town for dinner, mostly along the river. So relaxing, quiet, peaceful - what a recharge.

The lady Florence is in such an amazing tranquil location with very beautiful design as well well equipped. We had a wonderful time and not to mention the lovely host who was very helpful. Thank you so much!

Bank holiday weekend.

Stressful start difficult to find and couldn’t pay to park so worried for two days I would get fined until car park company sorted it out . Long walk with the food and luggage which we hadn’t expected. Property was clean and spacious and very private despite being next to the towpath. Very relaxing , good facilities and kitchen was well equipped for cooking .

What a gem Lady Florence is

Had a wonderful stay on Lady Florence. Beautifully decked out inside and out. Great amenities. Plenty spacious. Nice welcoming touches. Catches the sun throughout the day. Location is perfect if you want to pop to the local pub/restaurant or have a pleasant walk along the river into Maidstone. Georgina was a great host. Highly recommend staying.
