"It is a historic place. Everyone in Syracusa knows this hotel. There is wonderful breakfast. Rooms are unique and beautiful. We had two rooms that connected with a hallway. Loved the grand staircase. Easy to walk everywhere in Ortigia. "

"Good place to stay for visiting Syracuse. It is not a hotel but rather air bnb type of accommodation. It is within an old apartment, the interior has been renovated to appropriate condition. We get out early in the morning and back late, Thư’s we weren’t bother about the lack of hotel facilities. The man who look after the apartment was friendly and helpful. "Absolutely recommend this hotel. In great location, garden room was nice and quiet (requested a quiet room and hotel accomdated it, which really appreciated it). Bed is very comfortable (not super soft which provide a great support for my back. Duvet and bedding are also comfortable. Pillows are on the slight firm end but still okay. "We were not familiar and it took a minute to locate as the entrance is not facing the street. Once we found it, Giuliani checked us right in and set up a parking valet for us. She helped us with our luggage and showed us to our room. Beautiful building with great history. Rooms were quiet and clean. The Manager, Domenico was an absolute treat and made us feel right at home. I can’t wait to go back. Grazie Mille, Lanterne Magiche! You have earned guests for a lifetime. "

"My husband & I stayed 2 nights in mid-May 2025. We loved this historic and fascinating B&B within a current convent (yes, we saw the nuns!). Comfortable 2nd floor room that opened onto a quiet, shared, shaded terrace. There’s also a ln upper terrace with seattle & sea views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Note: wifi was very unreliable. We parked our rental car at the Talete garage about 10 minutes walk, for €15 per 24 hrs. Overall, this was a great location for us in Ortigia."
